Honest God Truth

 Nov 30, 2024 “He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭29‬-‭30‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When we are in trouble we should turn to Jesus for help.  Peter looked to Jesus and was able to walk on water which represented his trouble.  Peter's trouble didn't go away but with Jesus in his sight he overcame the trouble.  Then when Peter was walking with Jesus on the water he looked at the wind and not at Jesus he lost his faith and began to sink.  When we think we can handle our troubles on our own and not trust in Jesus we sink back in to our troubles.  Lord help us to remember to keep our eyes on you as we walk on our troubled waters.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 30, 2024 “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus came to show us the love of God and the justice of God.  Love means forgiveness and justice means fairness.  Love without justice is chaos and justice without love is legalism.  Jesus is the perfect combination that we need to receive the joy of salvation.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 29, 2024 “And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17‬:‭4‬, ‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The disciples response to two different supernatural events was amazingly different.  First they wanted to stay in the presence of Jesus, Elijah, and Moses.  Then when the cloud came and God spoke there were terrified.  What changed?  The first vision showed God's love to humanity through Jesus, Moses, and Elijah.  The second vision showed God's holiness through his voice and command to obeying his son.  Then Jesus came to them and their fear was taken away because Jesus made them holy by his touch.  Lord we need to know your love and your holiness to live with you.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen 

 Nov 28, 2024 “quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭34‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How are we made strong?  Out of weakness well that could mean that you start weak and after much self determination and much effort your weakness is changed to strength.  Or it could mean that when we realize how weak we are that we could never accomplish our trial or goal then we turn to God and observe his work, power in our life to fulfill his will for us in every situation.   Which one have you tried and experienced?  Which one gives God glory?  Lord Jesus help me to trust in you.  Amen

 Nov 28, 2024 “and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus born of a women and the Holy Spirit is the Son of God.  He is like us and so much more.  He lived a perfect, righteous life.  God is holy and just in all his ways.  We, sinful people cannot obey God's righteousness for it demands putting God's will first and only Jesus did that!  We are thankful today for all you did for us our Lord and Savior.  Let us praise you forevermore.  Amen

 Nov 27, 2024 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When trials come we must be prepared in three ways.  One know the promises of God in scripture, two be sensitive to the Holy Spirit leading in your life through scripture and three, stand faithfully knowing God is with you and will work out your problem by his good will and purpose.  Lord help us to trust your love for us.  Amen

 Nov 26, 2024 ““Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God with us is a remarkable statement of truth.  God made us to be with him yet because of our sin we separated ourselves from the love of God.  But God had a plan from the foundations of the earth to send Jesus to us to show us ultimate love of dying for our sins.  Yet even now Jesus who rose from the dead is interceding for us as an eternal high priest praying to the Father to forgive us by his blood.  What a wonderful God we have in the Lord Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 25, 2024 “In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭56‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The key to overcoming fear is to  know and trust the Lord and his word. The future is in the Lord Jesus control and we can trust in him for the word tells us that he loves us.  Lord help me to obey your word today so I may experience your presence in my life.  All praise to you Lord Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 24, 2024 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We are called to live a righteous life as believers in Jesus.  What does it mean to be righteous?  It is simple to do what is right in God's eyes.  Not what we think is right and that is what gets us in so much trouble.  Our selfishness often trumps our knowledge of what the word of God says and we stumble. We have to believe the word of God is true and to obey even when it doesn't seem to make sense.  Lord help us hide your word in our heart that we might not sin against you.  Amen

 Nov 23, 2024 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord will supply all the power we need to stand against sin and evil.  We are children of God with the Holy Spirit dwelling in our heart.  Therefore we must fight the good fight of righteousness and not fall into the lust of sin and Satan.  Lord thank you for being with us forever.  Amen

 Nov 22, 2024 “from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel. And I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭7‬:‭11‬, ‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ David realized how much the Lord God has blessed him and wanted to build a house for the Lord.  God told him that only the Messiah who was to come from David could build a house for the Lord.  This house is all the children of God who by faith in the gospel of Jesus will receive the Holy Spirit and all together become the dwelling place (house) of the Lord.  Amazing that God makes his home in us because of Jesus victory over sin and death.  Praise you Jesus!  Amen

 Nov 22, 2024 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This verse is so true and yet we are not finished growing in the grace of the Lord.  We are no longer dead in our sin because we have been given faith to believe on Jesus's death and resurrection.  Yet we live in this sinful world where we get tangled by the weeds of sin.  This is where we humbly come to Jesus for help, forgiveness and become more holy like he is holy.  Lord help us in our sanctification so we can glorify your name.  Amen

 Nov 21, 2024 “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This verse is very revealing of God's plans.  Abram was God's chosen person and the Lord God spoke what he has done to Abram which was making him a father of many nations.  At that word it happened and God gave him a new name Abraham indicating what the Lord has done to him.  When God speaks his word creation occurs in the natural world and the spiritual world.  And the Word became flesh and dwelled with us. Jesus is God's very word that has saved his people from their sins.  Those who believe in Jesus shall be saved and are Abraham's children.  Thank you Lord Jesus for saving me.  Amen

 Nov 21, 2024 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When fear comes into your mind we can share it with the Lord Jesus and ask him for help.  Once we tell him our fear and ask him for help there is a peace we will receive even when the cause of the fear is not eliminated.  If our faith is sure that Jesus loves us and is Lord of all things we can rest in his control.  Oh the peace we forfeit when we don't go to God in prayer.  Lord Jesus help us to grow in our faith in your love for us and come to you for your help in prayer.  Amen

 Nov 20, 2024 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Faith is resting in the belief that God exists and you can trust his love for you.  Yes there are times when you pray and outcomes are evidence that God listened to your prayer.  There our other times when you pray and the situation seems unchanged.  During these times resting in your faith in Jesus gives you a peace of assurance that the world can never possess.  Oh Lord increase our faith in your love for us today.  Amen

 Nov 19, 2024 “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭118‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Having faith that gives us confidence to glorify God knows that Jesus is always with us.  We are children of God and nothing can take that truth away from us.  Therefore we can boldly live righteous life's in a dark, sinful world.  When evil comes our faith in the Lord will overcome the doubt and fear of temptation and give us victory by the grace of God.  Lord help us conquer our fear of being alone and trust in you.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov18, 2024 “Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭150‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When was the last time, with all your heart, you praised the Lord?  If it has been awhile then I ask you why not for don't you know how amazing our Lord God Jesus is?  He is the greatest being in all of existence and he loves you so much that he died for you so you can live with him forever!  How wonderful, how marvelous is his love for us.  We are more, oh so much more, than over comers if Jesus is our Lord.  Then come and praise the Lord Jesus with me forevermore.   Amen

 Nov 17, 2024 “The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭145‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We must know the Lord so we  can praise him for all his works.  We are blessed by him and proclaim his works in our lives.  We are not lucky but the Lord is near to those who fear him.  David here is telling us to trust in the steadfast love of the Lord God for it is he who saves us and loves us.  Lord open our hearts to your love for us today.  May we bless and praise your name Jesus.  Amen

 Nnv 16, 2024 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When we fear anything these two verses are so strong and comforting that they remind me when I would at night run into my parents bed and all sleep so soundly because all my fear was gone!  Thank you Jesus for loving us so much that we have nothing to fear because of you.  Amen

 Nov 14, 2024 “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭127‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We are to work hard to produce what we need to live and prosper but without knowledge and thanksgiving to the Lord we labor in vain.  This happens because  without trusting the Lord for our future we worry that we won't have enough or we may lose what we have obtained. Here the Lord says he gives to his beloved sleep apart from worry.  Lord help us to know you love us and will protect us from all danger for you are always with us.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 12, 2024 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Faith in God or fear of God they both have their purposes.  Faith that God loves us and is always with us by the Holy Spirit motives us to overcome our fear of failure or not pleasing God.  While our fear of God keeps us loving his word so we will not drift away from the protection of God and experience his discipline.  Faith keeps us strong in our hope of salvation while fear draws us back to God's mercy and love. Praise you Jesus for your word that strengthens our hearts to glorify you.  Amen

 Nov 11, 2024 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus gives us a peace that overcomes our understanding.  It is stronger than the world's ability to make us worry and be afraid.  The peace of having God with you always trumps all worries for we know that He can protect us and save us.  Oh Lord increase our faith in you and live in the peace of your promise to be with us always.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 10, 2024 “For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭62‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The question should not be what do you put your hope in but where does your hope come from?  This verse says hope in God is a gift given to us from God to trust in his promises.  Therefore, if you are struggling to trust God in your daily walk, we must pray to the Lord Jesus to give us the gift of hope in him.  We have an amazing God who provides us all we need to be joyful and glorify him.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 10, 2024 “Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭111‬:‭2‬-‭4‬, ‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The more we study and understand who the Lord Is the more we can and will praise.  The heavens declare his glory and his works to his people are full of miracles.  The Lord is righteous and merciful and those who trust in his promises see his blessings.  We must study and understand the glory of the Lord God for when we do his grace will be poured out into our hearts with joy.  Lord help us to fear your wonders and learn that you are great and worthy of all our praise.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

 Nov 9, 2024 “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God's love and sovereignty is enough to know that we can trust in the future.  His steadfast love will always be with us even if we need discipline.  When we make choices and mess up we must continue to trust his power and plan for our life.  Lord Jesus you loved us when we were your enemies, how much more when we want to glorify you!  Praise the name of Jesus.  Amen 

 Nov 9, 2024 “Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭105‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We must seek the Lord continually and thereby rejoice in his presence.  So how do we seek the Lord?  Go to church, read the Bible, pray to Jesus?  Yes but more than all this we must have him on our mind and in our heart.  What your heart loves it seeks.  Money, pleasure, winning, are all things that we seek.  We believers are settling for items that can't compare to the joy of the Lord.  We must remember and ask the Holy Spirit to help us seek our greatest joy and that is experience the presence of the Lord continually in our heart.  Let's not settle for anything less!  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

 Nov 8, 2024 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Light and salvation is a great combination for living. We need the Lord's light to see opportunities in our daily walk to glorify our savior Jesus.  We also need his salvation since we know that our sinfulness can cause us to be selfish and prideful.  Lord Jesus help us to trust you will be with us to strengthen us and care for us through each day.  May we glorify you today.  Amen

 Nov 8, 2024 “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭103‬:‭6‬, ‭8‬, ‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We who know the love of the Lord Jesus have eyes to see him work in his world.  He cares for the oppressed and hurting and his mercy is for all who ask for forgiveness.  His steadfast love endures forever for those who realize that he is sovereign.  Lord Jesus thank you for dying for our sins and rising from the dead for our hope of eternal glory with you.  Lord God you are a wonderful God!  Let us praise you today.  Amen

 Nov 7, 2024 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God's peace surpasses understanding gives peace to our hearts.  Even when our minds tell us there's no peace our faith in the Lord Jesus gives our hearts the assurance that God loves us and is in control of all things.  When Jesus was in the boat with his disciples and the boat was sinking they worried that they would drown, but with Jesus there the creator of water, their trust in him should have given them peace.  He just walked on water!  Lord Jesus help us to trust you with all our heart.  Amen

 Nov 7, 2024 “O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭97‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What is evil?  Is it not taking away from the glory of God?  The Lord God maker and sustainer of all things is to be thanked and praised for who he is and what he does.  Therefore, anytime anyone or anything does not glorify him in truth, righteousness and love acts in evil and robs God of his glory taking it for our own praise.  Evil is most clearly seen by pride which puts self above God.  Evil cuts us off of receiving the blessings of the Lord.  Therefore we must hate evil and desire to glorify the Lord Jesus with all of our heart.  Amen

 Nov 6, 2024 “Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭95‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What joy to sing to the Lord God who has made us and has saved us.  Let us lift up our hearts with praise for our God is King of all kings and reigns on high.  We are blessed because we can praise the Lord at all times.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen 

 Nov 5, 2024 “I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭89‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Lord give us a heart full of your steadfast love so we will sing of your praises all day long. Oh what joy to praise the Lord in good times and difficultly, we must learn that we are his children and rejoice in his love.  Jesus your salvation is sweet to the mouth which brings joy to the heart all day long.  Oh praise the Lord with me today.  Amen 

 Nov 4, 2024 “Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭85‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/psa.85.10-11.ESV Love and faith are connected together where if one is not present the other is weak or absent.  Which one comes first may be a mystery but they are both evidence of each other's need.  Righteousness is an outcome of faith and love for they will produce relationships that result in peace.  Therefore we must ask God to shed his love on us so we may see Jesus and believe his gospel and live righteously to bring peace in our families and friends. Lord let your kingdom come today.  Amen

 Nov 3, 2024 “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭84‬:‭1‬-‭2‬, ‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Who are the ones that will be glorified in heaven?  Those who delight in the presence of the Lord Jesus. What does your heart long for is the indicator to your destiny.  Those who have been chosen from the foundation of the earth will delight with loving hearts in the presence of the living God!  Oh Lord give us assurance each day of our eternity with you by longing to be in your presence  and praising your name.  Amen

 Nov 2, 2024 “Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭80‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How can God restore our broken, sinful hearts? He does it by shining his face of salvation in our hearts.  When our deepest thoughts of life and our purpose in it are open to the glorious truth of the gospel we can't help but to rejoice!  Nothing can take away the truth of Jesus dying for our sins and giving us everlasting life with him.  This truth changes our broken heart to rejoicing for the battle has been won and we are on the winning side!  Oh Lord shine your gospel in our hearts today.  Amen 

 Nov 1, 2024 “Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭76‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ There are times in our life that are difficult and we can lose the joy of living.  But we must think on all the times when our experiences have been joyful and full of love.  Simple think of a time when we were hungry and how glorious a good meal satisfies us.  We have a glorious God who made us and gives us blessings everyday and often we take the gift and giver for granted.  If we choose to experience joy we must remember to appreciate our blessings and share our blessings with others.  Lord Jesus help us to glorify you by being joyful and thank you for all your blessings.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen
