Oh You of little faith

Sept 30, 2024 “But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭39‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Joseph was a righteous man who obeyed the Lord because the Lord was with him.  When Joseph's situation was unjust, God was still with him and gave him the ability not to take revenge but to continue to trust the Lord.  God often doesn't change events that are troubling but he gives us the ability to change our attitude about the event.  If God is with us it doesn't really matter what happens next, like when Jesus was in the boat with his disciples.  They were afraid of sinking and Jesus said to them, Oh you of little faith!  Praise you Jesus for your promise never to leave or forsake us.  Amen

Fear God's wrath

Sept 29, 2024 Warning of judgement  “I know his insolence, declares the Lord; his boasts are false, his deeds are false. Moab shall be destroyed and be no longer a people, because he magnified himself against the Lord.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭48‬:‭30‬, ‭42‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Pride comes before a great fall because God hates pride.  When we glorify ourselves or things, God's wrath will be against us.  Oh, we are so blessed that Jesus took God's righteous wrath on himself to take away our judgement.  Lord God help us to live righteous, holy lives through the Holy Spirit you have given us, so we will escape your wrath and receive your love.  Thank you Jesus for saving us. Amen

Mercy and forgiven

Sept 28, 2024 “Fear not, O Jacob my servant, declares the Lord, for I am with you. I will make a full end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭46‬:‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God's covenant with Israel is forever and He will not let his people come to nothing.  He will punish sin and find a way to be merciful to those he chooses to show mercy.  All the mercy that God ever gave to his people was justified by the death of his son Jesus Christ.  Jesus took on every sin that God overlooked in a merciful way.  We are justified by the blood of Jesus and so is every other person that God has chosen to be forgiven by grace.  Oh what a Savior we have in the Lord Jesus.  Amen

God Almighty is with us

Sept 28, 2024 “And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.” So he called his name Israel. And God said to him, “I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come from your own body.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭35‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God Almighty is an awesome name for God.  God has many characteristics but almighty seems supreme in defending and protecting those he chooses.  Jacob did many tricks, and deceiving things that would have got into great trouble but as God almighty with him he will receive all that God promised him.  Jesus is our savior and promised to be with us, pay our sin debt and bring us with him into heaven.  Jesus you are God almighty and we trust in you. Amen

Trust in God's promises

Sept 27, 2024 “But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭33‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jacob was rightfully afraid to meet his brother, since he tricked him out of his father's blessings.  Jacob wanted to make things right by his own plans.  But God is a merciful God to those he chooses to show mercy.  The Lord promised to bless Jacob and that means his brother Esau will forgive him.  What God promises will occur even if it seems hopeless at times. We can trust in his love through Jesus our Lord and Savior.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

Greatness in Jesus

Sept 27, 2024 “And do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not, for behold, I am bringing disaster upon all flesh, declares the Lord. But I will give you your life as a prize of war in all places to which you may go.”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭45‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Our sinful nature wants great things for ourself when what we should want is great things for the Lord Jesus. When we learn in our weakness God is made strong, then our hearts will be willing to be filled with his love.  Our greatness comes in Jesus not instead of him.  The truth is that we are made for greatness in him and Jesus will set us free to enjoy his greatness with him.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

We need a revival

Sept 26, 2024 ““As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you. But we will do everything that we have vowed, make offerings to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our officials, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no disaster.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭44‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We must be horrified when people praise themselves and empty gods for all the blessings the Lord Jesus has given them.  Who does our society praise for their blessings?  Their own efforts or luck which is self honoring or a false god luck!  Oh Lord we deserve your wrath and punishment for not praising you and obey your word.  Lord Jesus we need a revival in our land to turn our hearts toward you.  Jesus let it begin in your church.  Amen

God is leading us

Sept 26, 2024 “Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers and to your kindred, and I will be with you.”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭31‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord God is always with us for he holds everything together by his hand.  Yet there are times when he wants us to know in special ways his presence.  Jacob has been living and working with his uncle Laben for 20 years and God was preparing Jacob to become Israel with his twelve sons.  A new path was coming and Jacob needed to know God was with him as he moves forward.  God is always with us and in us as believers.  We must be open to his leading for he had plans for us that will bless us and give him glory.  Lord open our hearts to your leading in our life's to glorify the Lord Jesus.  Amen

Glorious joy in God

Sept 25, 2024 “Whether it is good or bad, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God to whom we are sending you, that it may be well with us when we obey the voice of the Lord our God.” And I have this day declared it to you, but you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord your God in anything that he sent me to tell you.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭42‬:‭6‬, ‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Why do we disobey the Lord when we know that he is God?  One reason we fear man more than fear God which makes no sense!  Another reason is that we love the pleasure in sinning and don't think the results will hurt you.  It is the process of sanctification that teaches us to trust the Lord over our desires and fears because our desires start becoming more to pleasing God than our fear and sinful habits.  Lord help us to obey your word because when we do our joy in you is glorious.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

Two people two ways

Sept 25, 2024 “Esau went to Ishmael and took as his wife, besides the wives he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth. Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran. And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬-‭10‬, ‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God seems to always makes two ways for mankind.  One is where man thinks they're in control and the other way where man realizes that God is in control.  One way glorifies man and the other way man glorifies God.  Scripture seems to give his chosen people a choice to choose who they will glorify, where the not chosen are not able to choose.  This is the mystery of faith and all who choose to believe in God's ladder, who is Jesus, can glorify God by trusting He will come to them.  Lord thank you for choosing us to believe Jesus came to save us so we can...

Humble yet wise

Sept 24, 2024 “Then Rebekah said to Isaac, “I loathe my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries one of the Hittite women like these, one of the women of the land, what good will my life be to me?”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭27‬:‭46‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Rebekah was a key player with the events in her family.  God used her to fulfill his plan to bless Jacob instead of Esau.  God uses women often in scripture to show humbleness and yet wisdom.  Rebekah was given insight that Jacob would rule over his brother and she participated in doing the Lord's will. God has a plan for all of us we must trust him, love him and obey him even when things seem not be going our way.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

Fear not!

Sept 22, 2024 “King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Judeans who have deserted to the Chaldeans, lest I be handed over to them and they deal cruelly with me.” Jeremiah said, “You shall not be given to them. Obey now the voice of the Lord in what I say to you, and it shall be well with you, and your life shall be spared.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭38‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Are there commands in the Bible that you know are true but because of your fear of what people may say keep you from obeying the Lord?  The words of the Lord are trustworthy and true which lasts forever.  Heaven and earth will all pass away but the Lord's word lasts forever.  Jesus help us not to fear mankind but trust that you love us and will always be with us.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

Rising from the dead

Sept 22, 2024 “The field and the cave that is in it were made over to Abraham as property for a burying place by the Hittites.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭23‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This entire chapter was about buying land to bury Abraham's dead in Canaan the chosen land.  God must have shared with Abraham the idea about being raised from the dead.  God promised that his family will inherit the land forever.  The importance of owning land in the promised land for burial was very important.  Lord Jesus help us to trust in your promises and live our life choosing to anticipate raising from the dead.  Amen

God hates infaithfulness

Sept 21, 2024 “King Zedekiah said, “Behold, he is in your hands, for the king can do nothing against you.”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭38‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This reminds me of Pilot washing his hands to Jesus and giving him up to be crucified.  How easy it is to ignore God's message of wrath for our lack of faith in him.  When we trust and obey God blessed us but when our hearts are away from us we experience his punishment.  Lord we know that you love us but help us know that you hate unfaithfulness.  Have mercy on us Lord and give us hearts who trust in you.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

Trust in God's promises

Sept 21, 2024 “Abraham said, “I did it because I thought, ‘There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭20‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What did Abraham do wrong in this verse?  It sounds like a logical plan and his knowledge of these people was true.  They did not fear God!  He did not trust God to be faithful with his promise to have a child by Sarah.  Therefore he gave her over to the king.  He was satisfied with Ishmael, which indicates man's wisdom and not Gods.  The greatest wisdom in the world is to trust in God's promises because he is the one who controls the future. Lord Jesus help us to believe you are God and trust in you.  Amen

Judgment will come

Sept 20, 2024 “For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭19‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord is a righteous God who punishes evil. It may seem at times that the Lord is slow to act when evil seems to win. But evil will always be judged even when God is merciful and slow to anger.  We who put our faith in Jesus have died to sins penalty and by grace will not receive our punishment of our sin.  Lord let us trust that your righteousness will be carried out perfectly and all those who don't put their faith in you Jesus will be judged.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

Trust in difficult times

Sept 20, 2024 “And the officials were enraged at Jeremiah, and they beat him and imprisoned him in the house of Jonathan the secretary, for it had been made a prison.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭37‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God often brings his people into difficult times.  We may know why and we may not.  But what we must do is trust in the Lord Jesus always for he is our salvation.  Living an easy life now and spend eternity apart from God is foolish, Lord even in difficult times help us to rejoice in you.  Amen

Miracles of God

Sept 19, 2024 “Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my Lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” The Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭18‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God does miracles through humans all the time.  We so often don't realize all of the Lord's work in our life.  One definition of a miracle is an act of God that does not follow normal actions from God, which we call following nature.  Since the bodies of Abraham and Sarah were past the natural reproductive age of having a baby, the Lord would perform miracle.  We as believers our recipients of the greatest miracle that God ever performed and that was Jesus  dying on the cross...

Be aware of doubt

Sept 18, 2024 “And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭16‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Abram just had an amazing encounter with the Lord who promised to give him a child and have as many offspring as the stars in the sky.  Then his wife doubts God and tempts Abram with her servant to accomplish what only God can do.  This seems to happen in the Bible often where the people have received a great blessing from God then they sin for not trusting him.  Adam, Noah, David, Isaiah, even Peter when he proclaims who Jesus is then is used by Satan to try to prevent Jesus from the cross.  We must realize that we are most susceptible to sin after a spiritual victory and pray that we don't lose our trust in the Lord by doubting his promises. Praise you Jesus.  Amen

Casting Lots

Sept 17, 2024 “Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Abram out of a generous heart gave Lot his choice of the land.  God allowed Lot to choose and yet had a plan all set for Abram.  God always has a plan for his people yet we have choices that will honor him or sin against him.  Casting Lots was a way to determine God's plan in certain events.  Lot choose what looked good but in the end was a disaster.  Lord help us to trust you and not lean on our own understanding.  God did/does use casting lots!  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

Righteousness

Sept 16, 2024 “In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jeremiah proclaims destruction for his people when they turn away in sin from the Lord.  The result is punishment and wrath from God.  And he proclaims righteousness and joy when the Lord himself comes and reins with his people.  Righteousness comes from the Lord, he is our righteousness.  We dwell in his love for Jesus became our righteousness when we put our faith in him.  Our motivation to love others comes from Jesus loving us and dying for our sins.  Lord let us, through your Holy Spirit, live righteously for your glory.  Amen

Fear the Lord

Sept 15, 2024 “I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭32‬:‭40‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God promises to do good to his people and that alone should be enough for us to obey and honor him.  Unfortunately it is not enough because our hearts tend to be selfish which is evil and turn from him.  We need to fear the Lord, to be terrorized when we are tempted to turn away from God's love and become deserving of his wrath.  Lord put in our hearts the fear of leaving you and experiencing your punishment more than any sinful act.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

God is for us

Sept 14, 2024 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31‬:‭33‬-‭34‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord Jesus fulfilled Jeremiah's promise from the Lord.  God said it would happen and Jesus the Son of God came to us to forgive us and give us a new heart and the Holy Spirit.  We now have what we need to obey and love God.  It is our role to use these wonderful gifts to glorify him with our thoughts words and actions.  Lord Jesus help us work out our salvation with fear and trembling because we know you are for us and within us. ...

Godly Emotions

Sept 13, 2024 “And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ All our emotions and feelings come from God.  Sometimes people say we must control our emotions which they are saying to stop feeling a way that is negative.  We must live fully and that includes feelings and emotions.  God is perfect and he has feelings and emotions.  We must express our heart felt emotions to glorify the Lord thereby loving him and our neighbors.  Thank you Jesus for giving us feelings that make our lives rich in love.  Amen

Good and Evil

Sept 12, 2024 “Then Cain went away from the presence of the Lord and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬, ‭26‬ ‭ESV‬‬ After Adam's sin two off spring who represented good and evil were born.  Cain represented evil and Abel represented good.  Therefore evil killed good and thus the start of evil in the world.  Then God have Adam and Eve Seth as another representative of good.  Seth produced a line of people that represented God's good, blessings in the world.  Therefore God has always had his chosen people from the very beginning.  Lord keep us close to you so we may glorify your name through the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen

Seek the Lord in Trials

Sept 12, 2024 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God has a plan for his people and when difficult times happen his plan is still for our good.  Therefore we must trust him when he seems far from us.  We must seek him and desire him during times of trial for God is most glorified in us when we desire him most.  Difficult times are made to cause us to depend on him more.  Jesus let us fear drifting away from your love and protection so we may joyfully praise your name and experience your loving presence. Amen

Words and action go together

Sept 12, 2024 “And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, “Listen, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie. Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭28‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Speak the truth in love is what the Lord commands of us.  The gospel of Jesus is true and we must speak to others about what Jesus did for us.  When we tell others the truth in love it means that our actions display the power and truth of a changed life.  We treat others better than ourselves because we know that Jesus will take care of our needs which frees us up to help others. Lord let our words and actions glorify you today and forever.  Amen

Choose God's way

Sept 9, 2024 “It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds. Now therefore mend your ways and your deeds, and obey the voice of the Lord your God, and the Lord will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬, ‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God warns his people and sometimes they repent and other times they don't.  Does God change his mind depending on his people's actions?  Yes and no is the answer.  He uses their choices to do his sovereign will.  God hates when we sin against him and he uses that sin in his sovereign plan.  We must choose righteousness and hope our choices glorify the Lord.  Lord allow us to give you glory by trusting in you.  Amen

Trust Jesus

Sept 9, 2024 “Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ These two verses sum up what all believers must do but fail to do and that is why Jesus came to save us.  Jesus kept all of God testimonies with his whole heart and never did anything wrong!  We were made to do the same but our sinfulness prevents us.  Therefore Jesus came to destroy evil and to do what we can't do but we trust in his righteousness.  Lord Jesus forgive us when we stumble and fall.  Please lift us up to glorify you.  All praise to you our Savior!  Amen

Judgment will come

Sept 9, 2024 “For behold, I begin to work disaster at the city that is called by my name, and shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the Lord of hosts.’” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭25‬:‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Judgment is coming from the Lord to all sinful people starting with his chosen people.  The wrath of God is real and will come even though he is a patient God.  Evil will be judged, everything hidden will be revealed, all evil act will be made just.  If your sins are not paid by Jesus's blood you will pay.  Ignorance is not accepted and particle effort will be judged unrighteous.  Lord Jesus we need you so much!  Amen

Consequences of actions

Sept 7, 2024 “I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up, and not tear them down; I will plant them, and not pluck them up. I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a reproach, a byword, a taunt, and a curse in all the places where I shall drive them.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭24‬:‭6‬-‭7‬, ‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Israel was God's chosen people and he blessed them with many gifts especially a relationship with him.  He promised to bless them when they obeyed and curses them when they disobeyed.  His relationship with them was to demonstrate his power and his sovereignty.  They were clay in his hands, very special, but used by God for his purposes.  Verse nine gives us the reason that throughout history the Jewish people suffered many terrible events! ...

The word of the Lord

Sept 6, 2024 “Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬   Your word oh Lord I hide in my heart that I might not sin against you.  The word of the Lord is sharper than a two edged sword!  We have access to God's word that created all things yet we often fail to learn from it.  If we desire to allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our life we must be in the word daily so we can renew our minds and hearts to be holy and not sin.  Lord Jesus you are the word of God help us to learn from and about you today.  Amen

The choice of unbelief

Sept 5, 2024 “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, when he comes on that day to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The truth of saving grace is eternal glory seen in Jesus and within those who believe in him.  This marvelous experience comes at the opposite experience of eternal punishment to those who don't believe.  Believers receive glory and unbelievers wrath, there is no other option.  Oh Lord keep us believing in your love knowing the consequence of unbelief!  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

A directed heart

Sept 4, 2024 “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This prayer of Paul's tells us that our hearts need to be directed.  When we desire to receive the love of God and the steadfastness of Jesus we are in a good situation.  The external circumstances are far less important to our joy than a good heart.  A believer has joy and peace in their heart which is produced by the Lord.  Oh Jesus help us to love and desire you today.  Amen

Worship Jesud

Sept 3, 2024 ““‘And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, “Why has the Lord dealt thus with this great city?” And they will answer, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served them.”’”” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭22‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Who do we worship makes all the difference for God's blessing or wrath.  We all worship something, it is our nature.  If we are left on our own we will choose anything but God.  We always choose created things and not the creator for our eyes are blind to the Lord.  Lord open our hearts so we can taste and see today that you are good and worship you for your glory which is our joy.  Worship Jesus today!  Amen

Choose to obey

Sept 2, 2024 ““And to this people you shall say: ‘Thus says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭21‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord gives his people a choice when he chose them to be his people.  They had no chose to be his people but when they realized that they were God's people then they had a choice to obey him or disobey him.  We as believers in Jesus have the same choice.  The New Testament was written to tell us to choose to trust in the Lord because we have a choice.  Oh Lord help us choose to obey you and not lean on our own understanding.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen.

Warning!

Sept 1,  2024 “If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭20‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ May we like Jeremiah have the passion to share the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Jeremiah warned God's people over and over to repent to the Lord but they did not listen. He suffered physical and emotional pain but did not stop warning them.  We have difficulty to share the warning of hell because it brings criticism and ridicule and justify our quietness as "at least I tried."  Lord your love for sinners is so strong  that you died for them, please give us that kind of love to warn them of the wide path that leads to hell and your narrow path that leads to you. Praise you Jesus.  Amen
