Consequences of actions

“I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up, and not tear them down; I will plant them, and not pluck them up. I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a reproach, a byword, a taunt, and a curse in all the places where I shall drive them.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭24‬:‭6‬-‭7‬, ‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Israel was God's chosen people and he blessed them with many gifts especially a relationship with him.  He promised to bless them when they obeyed and curses them when they disobeyed.  His relationship with them was to demonstrate his power and his sovereignty.  They were clay in his hands, very special, but used by God for his purposes.  Verse nine gives us the reason that throughout history the Jewish people suffered many terrible events!  Jesus, it is a terrible thing to be against your will.  Lord help us to love you and obey your testimonies.  Amen
