War and peace

July 31, 2023 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This rich verse tells us that the peace of God will be in you when you think on good things.  So much so that you can't comprehend why you have this peace.  It doesn't make human sense but God gives it to you.  And this peace is active it's working to guard your heart and mind in or for Jesus.  This inner peace will motivate you to work glorifying God even in difficult times.  Calmness and peace are not always the same.  War and peace is what Jesus promised.  As believers we should never be bored but be ready to speak the truth about Jesus everywhere.  Oh what peace we often forfeit because we mistake calmness with peace.  Lord Jesus fill us with your peace so we can win the war by sharing the gospel.   Amen

Wicked and Fool

July 30, 2023 “A man of crooked heart does not discover good, and one with a dishonest tongue falls into calamity. He who sires a fool gets himself sorrow, and the father of a fool has no joy.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Is there a difference between a wicked and a foolish man?  Is Satan foolish or wicked?  Does he know what he is doing and the outcome of his actions?  Does a fool hate righteousness or thinks he is on the narrow path when he is running to hell?  Can a wicked man act foolishly in his evil plans?  Will a foolish man cause chaos with his unintelligent choices?  The harm that comes from both must be avoided for our sinful nature often desires the goals of the wicked and acts like the foolish.  Analysis yourself and those you spend time with and see where you are heading.  Seek first the kingdom of God for the path is narrow and few find eternal life in Jesus.  Amen

God holds the future in his hands

July 28, 2023 “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If you follow the rules of God it will go well for you most of the time.  There are times when your following and like Job don't get it!  Then following God's rules seem foolish.  This verse goes deeper than Job because what this verse is saying there are times, many I assume, that the results of our behavior are not what we wanted or expected.  But God always controls the results, always.  So our responsibility is to draw close to Jesus and learn from him for is yolk is easy and his burden is light.  Make every effort to glorify God and know the results God will determine.  Oh what freedom oh what joy for I knows he loves me and he has the universe in his hands.  Amen

Royal family living

July 28,2023 Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Once our eyes and heart are open and receive salvation by Jesus as a gracious gift, how then do we live as his children?  Do nothing and play in his backyard with no cares at all because our brother is Jesus and our Father is God?  Well, the answer is yes but a royal play.  The freedom of those truths take away our need to justify our position but not our responsibility as a family member of God.  We are a Holy Spirit filled family, a loving family, a sharing family and a forgiving family.  Our goal is to be perfect like our Heavenly Father is perfect.  Therefore, If we don't represent the family perfectly our Father will come and discipline us and since we know how much he loves us we hate disappointing him.  His discipline is not fun but always perfect to help ...

Let's just please the Lord

July 28, 2023 “Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We all want to trust in the Lord.  How do we trust in him? First we need to know him and the only way to truly know the creator of the universe is through scripture, what he wants, what he likes and dislikes.  How can you get him on your side?  How can you please him?  Well many people try to do all those things, but if you are only guessing then you may be in trouble.  The only way to get him on your side is to know him and the only way to know him is in the Bible.  So read, learn, believer and obey.  Then realize that it's all impossible with the Holy Spirit helping.  And he is given when we believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.  What a blessing the Bible is, please don't ignore it!  Amen

The glory of God

July 26,2023 “for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God always does what is right because he knows the motive of every person and acts in a way that glorifies himself.  God's glory is his main goal because when he is gloried all of his children rejoice.  God is therefore God centered and all his love and fruit of righteousness flows out of his glory.  When humans get angry it comes out of selfishness.  We are not getting or don't understand what is happening.  It never results in God's glory because it's trying to receive glory not from God.  That is what Satan always tries to do and it results in evil and sin.  When we receive God's glory the righteousness of God flows through us and our anger turns to joy.  Jesus said out of him flows rivers of living water, great joy.  Therefore seek God's glory and let the righteousness of God flow through you today to those you love and those you ...

Walking with Jesus

July 25, 2023 Walking with truth and joy John 10:7-8 "So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door." Knowing the door is open and walking to enter only takes two things, knowledge and desire.  We as believers must, by God's grace, know the truth and live a life that lets others know the joy of following Jesus unto eternal life.  Amen

Resist the Devil

July 22. 2023 “Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How can we resist the devil?  We must be strong in our faith.   That means first the you believe in Satan, for his best weapon is convincing people that he doesn't exist!  Second, believe in what scripture says about Satan which is he has no power over those who trust in Jesus. He can scare you, tempt you, but he can't harm you because Jesus defeated him on the cross.  Therefore have faith in the Lord and resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Amen

Wise

July 18, 2023 Oh to be wise! “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent ignores an insult.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Our society is in desperate need for wise men and women.   When we listen to advice and ignore insults true wisdom is right around the corner.  Modern people don't believe in listening, they only want to proclaim what they think is true.  They look for an insult so they can attract it.  The Bible calls this person a fool!  If God is not a part of the equation then it seems we act like foolish dogs devouring each other.  Lord help us to be wise!  Amen

Fear God

July 12,2023 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Fear and knowledge often go hand in hand.  Fear of the unknown is not truly fear because it is not the unknown that you fear but your imagination of what the unknown might be.  Fear of what is real and powerful is wise for it can bring harm to you. If you know God and all of his characteristics, then fear, love, honor, praise are some of the adjectives that describe your response to a Holy God.  Jesus came to show us who God is and if you know him you are full of grace that tells you that this Holy God loves you.  Therefore fear the Lord God and not the unknown.  Amen
