Let's just please the Lord

“Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We all want to trust in the Lord.  How do we trust in him? First we need to know him and the only way to truly know the creator of the universe is through scripture, what he wants, what he likes and dislikes.  How can you get him on your side?  How can you please him?  Well many people try to do all those things, but if you are only guessing then you may be in trouble.  The only way to get him on your side is to know him and the only way to know him is in the Bible.  So read, learn, believer and obey.  Then realize that it's all impossible with the Holy Spirit helping.  And he is given when we believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ.  What a blessing the Bible is, please don't ignore it!  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
