God holds the future in his hands

“The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭ESV‬‬


If you follow the rules of God it will go well for you most of the time.  There are times when your following and like Job don't get it!  Then following God's rules seem foolish.  This verse goes deeper than Job because what this verse is saying there are times, many I assume, that the results of our behavior are not what we wanted or expected.  But God always controls the results, always.  So our responsibility is to draw close to Jesus and learn from him for is yolk is easy and his burden is light.  Make every effort to glorify God and know the results God will determine.  Oh what freedom oh what joy for I knows he loves me and he has the universe in his hands.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
