Honest God Truth

 Sept 30, 2021 Colossians 4:12 (ESV) “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always struggling on your behalf in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.” Knowing that someone is praying for you is very powerful both spiritually and emotionally. When I am struggling with the temptations of sin, doubt in the love and power of God becomes strong. How wonderful to have believers come along side of me in prayer to ask Jesus to increase my faith in him. When we confess our sins to one another we give them the information to help us in our time of trouble.  Lord Jesus help us to help each other pray for victory over unbelief in your love and promises for us.  The prayers of a righteous person avails much. All for your glory Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 29, 2021 Colossians 4:10-11 (ESV) “Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, and Mark the cousin of Barnabas (concerning whom you have received instructions—if he comes to you, welcome him), and Jesus who is called Justus.” It is impossible with man but all things are possible with God.  Jesus said this about entering the kingdom of God therefore only God can make us righteous and live in such a way to always trust him. This is the desire of all who have experienced the love of Jesus but we must realize that when we fall from his grace like Mark, even for a moment, we can trust in his forgiveness and love when we confess our sin and turn back to him. We have an awesome Savior and high priest that lives daily interceding for us. Lord spur us on to love and good works for your glory.  Amen 

 Sept 28, 2021 “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity. There is a grievous evil that I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt,” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5:10, 13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We all love what money can give us.  At times we think it will satisfy all our needs, if we just had a little more! Money is God for many people.  The way you live your life is the indicator of your love for God or money.  Jesus said how hard it is for the rich to get into the kingdom of God.  Lord please convict our hearts if we are loving money more than you.  For you are far greater in every way!  Amen 

 Sept 26, 2021 ““Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:13-14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Many people think that the only requirement for entering heaven is “being good” and dying.  God is a perfect being and to be a part of his kingdom you must be perfect.  That is why Jesus came to earth for he lived a perfect life and died for the sins of all who believe and trust him.  If you desire to be with Jesus you must die daily to your selfishness and be filled with God’s perfect righteousness through faith in Jesus.  Jesus help us to enter the narrow gate, that is our desire.  Amen 

 Sept 27, 2021 Colossians 4:6 (ESV) “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Speak the truth in love is being kind to the one you are talking to. Without love in your talk you are just trying to be right. Our roll is to love those around us and kind words of hope and encouragement is very important. Lord help us to know the truth about you and share it in love to others.  May your name be glorified today.  Amen

 Sept 26, 2021 ‭‭”to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature man and women hood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,”  ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:12-13, ESV‬‬ As a believer in Jesus our mission is to glorify God.  We can do that when we receive the Lord’s help and share his help with others. We are never alone and our purpose is to stay connected to Jesus by being sensitive to the Holy Spirit.  God is building his church (body) and our task is to be used by him to help it grow. How it looks in us is by being kind and tender hearted to one another.  And encourage each other in faith to trust Jesus’s promises. Since we are in a process of sanctification we much forgive one another when we sin just like God forgives us in Jesus.  Jesus we want to participate in growing your church.  Give us the love and desire to...

 Sept 25, 2021 “Brothers, (and sisters) if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When we see someone struggling with sin what do we do, ignore it, laugh it off, fix it or participate with them? Scripture says we should restore them in a spirit of gentleness.  Hate the sin but love the sinner means to be gentle to the person with compassion and understanding because we also struggle with sin.  Sin separated us from God so we should hate all sin.  Loving others means to trust Jesus to work in us to help those we love.  Jesus use us today.  Amen

 Sept 25, 2021 Colossians 4:5 (ESV) “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” The wisdom to see the love of and for Jesus in people who have not been taught scripture. We are to make disciples not faith. Only God gives faith so when we sense God working in a person’s life we much encourage and share Jesus love and teachings with them.  Change the conversation from food to Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven.  From the love of the stock market to the love of God. Lord give us eyes to see you working in people’s life so we can tell them of your wonderful love and glorify your name Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 24, 2021 Colossians 4:2 (ESV) “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” Pray without ceasing is having open communication with the Lord. It is like having a best friend that you want to share your life with.  Your friend that goes with you everywhere and loves and guides and protects you. Talk to Jesus often and you will learn to hear him and love him in new and exciting ways. Jesus help us to pray to you more today.  Amen  

 Sept 23, 2021 “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:15-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What characteristics does a child possess that Jesus said we must have to enter the kingdom of God?  At least these two; dependence and love.  A child is totally dependent on his parents for life, food, safety and happiness.  When a child receives these things they love the people who provide for them.  Likewise those who live in the kingdom of God must be totally dependent on him and love Jesus for it.  When our eyes are open to the truth of who Jesus is and all he has provided for us our love for him grows very deep.  The kingdom of God us for children who depend on and love Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 23, 2021 “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:9-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ A friend is of great value which the Lord provides to many.  Friends can be family members, neighbors, work associates, anyone who has helped you when there is a need. But friends can never be with you always that is why Jesus says that we are his friends and let’s us know that he is always with us.  This good news changes everything for if God is with you nothing can stand against you.  Lord let us be a friend to someone today and remind us that you are our best friend.  Amen 

Sept 22, 2021  “Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Peace I give you and peace I leave you. Jesus gives us peace if we love and trust him.  Toll keeps our hearts busy but often anxious.  To stop and just be in the presence of God is so much better.  Mary choose a better thing than Martha.  We should too.  Amen 

 Sept 22, 2021 Colossians 3:22-24 (ESV) “Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Your will not my will be done.  As a believer we must submit ourselves to others for in doing so we are serving God. Jesus is the Lord of all and wants us to trust him in all things.  If what is asked of you is not sinful then we should humbly obey.  For in serving others we are serving the Lord. This is very difficult and goes against our sinful hearts. That is why we should come to Jesus everyday asking him to give us a new heart that loves him and those he brings to us. Jesus help us to love you more today.  Amen 

 Sept 21, 2021 “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:41‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Our selfish, sinful nature can see other people’s problems much easier than our own.  We need to be self reflected when we are interacting with people.  We must be look inside than out if we really want to help others. If not all we are doing is making ourselves feel good by thinking we are better than them.  Jesus help us to admit our faults and sins so we can show love to others and help them in their times of trouble.  Amen 

 Sept 21, 2021 “For what happens to the children of man and what happens to the beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts, for all is vanity.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Without the knowledge of God life is meaningless.  Everything that has breath dies therefore all our actions can’t save us.  If there is nothing else but living on earth why be kind?  If your actions don’t benefit you on earth than why do them?  Life has no meaning without God. But if you know him, he has a plan for each of us which gives us purpose and meaning.  Jesus teach us your ways so we may glorify you and therefore receive the joy of being significant.  Amen 

 Sept 30, 2021 ““So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Now this is true leadership if your heart is open to the truth of the gospel.  You have been forgiven because you need to be saved from the punishment of sin.  That is how you want to be treated.  Therefore go out and treat others the same way.  Love them and forgive them.  There response is not what is important. You set the example and some will follow.  Jesus help us to be like you and love and show mercy to all we meet today.  Amen 

 Sept 19, 2021 “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What was the secret that Paul learned?  He can do all things through Jesus who strengthens him.  How does Jesus strength him in times of plenty and in times of need?  Our hearts cause us to react to our circumstances, if we have a lot our heart can become prideful.  If we have little our heart can become anxious and worry.  When our hearts are set on Jesus we can have peace in knowing Jesus is leading and protecting us.  Our circumstances are controlled by Jesus and we know all things work together for our good when we love God and are called according to his purpose which is his glory and our joy.  Jesus help us to trust you today and not in our circumstances.  Amen 

 Sept 18, 2021 “And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:17-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus just affirmed to the man that he was God.  And if you know what God tells you and you don’t do it then you are a sinful fool.  And we all are until we recognize who Jesus truly is. Everything we have and will ever receive comes from God. Therefore if the source of all things reveals himself to you say to him, your will be done in my life.  The problem with disobedience is that we don’t hear, see, or understand what God is telling us.  Lord open our heart to you today.  Amen 

 Sept 18, 2021 Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Everyone loves choices but it reminds me of multiple choice questions on a test. There are four choices and only one is correct. Most people would like only one choice, the correct one! We are called to be slaves to Jesus and slaves don’t have choices. Wouldn’t be nice to always do what Jesus wants us to do! When we put your word in our hearts then we will choose wisely.  Jesus please help us to choose to honor and please you with every choice we have today.  For your glory Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 17, 2021 “a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We don’t have the ability to determine what will happen next.  Only God knows and we must trust and submit to his plan.  We may have wars or peace, be in love or be hated, but it happens in God’s perfect will for us.  Jesus help us to trust your timing in our life.  Then we will act in ways that give you glory.  Amen 

 Sept 16, 2021 “Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him. He cried, “Make everyone go out from me.” So no one stayed with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers. And he wept aloud, so that the Egyptians heard it, and the household of Pharaoh heard it.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭45:1-2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Sin separates and forgiveness  reunites.  Sin separated God from Adam and Jesus forgiveness on the cross reunited us with God.  Sin separated Joseph from his family and forgiveness reunited them.  Tears come from great stirring of emotions.  Fear, anger, love, loneliness, joy all produce tears that flow out of us.  Jesus wept at Lazarus’s tomb showing that our God loves us so much to show the stirring of his emotions.  Our sins they are many his love and mercy is much more!  Thank you Jesus,  Amen 

 Sept 16, 2021 “For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2:26‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How can you please God?  By trusting, obeying and loving him.  How can you do these things if you don’t know him?  You can only do what pleases God by learning about him in the Bible and by learning about him from those who preach and teach the Bible.  Lord help us to please you today by learning to love, trust and obey you.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 15, 2021 “And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples and set before the people and all were satisfied.  Jesus had to be broken for him to satisfy our hearts for the forgiveness of sin.  Without him being broken we could not be healed. When we eat of the bread he gives us we will be satisfied and have so much that we can share Jesus with others.  Jesus said he was the bread of life.  Thank you Jesus for feeding our hearts with your bread of eternal life.  Amen 

 Sept 15, 2021 “because sometimes a person who has toiled with wisdom and knowledge and skill must leave everything to be enjoyed by someone who did not toil for it. This also is vanity and a great evil.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Without belief in God and his love for us everything good we do counts for nothing.  You can work a long time and accomplished great things. Then you die and someone takes all you have done and destroys it.  You cry out unfair but no one hears or cares.  Without God there is no ultimate righteousness or justice.  Jesus thank you for coming to us and showing us that God is real, true, holy, righteous, just and merciful.  Everything is meaningless without you.  Amen 

 Sept 14, 2021 “and who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will be master of all for which I toiled and used my wisdom under the sun. This also is vanity.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Many people spend such a large part of their life accumulating wealth.  They believe it will protect them and give them what they desire and need.  They also plan on how their wealth will be shared with others when they die.  If Solomon says this is all vanity then what should we spend our time doing?  Teaching and modeling faith in God.  Trust and belief in God’s promises is what is lasting not wealth.  Lord help us to spend our time working on what lasts forever, trusting in Jesus promises.  Amen 

 Sept 13, 2021 “And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:2-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The angel did not come down to get Jesus out of the grace he came down causing an earthquake and lightning to show the women that Jesus was not there.  Why did the women not act like the guards scared to death?  It might have been because they were give the eyes to see the angel and not only the terror of an earthquake and lightning.  This shows us that God cares greatly for his children.  Lord help open our eyes to trust and love you more each day.  Amen 

 Sept 13, 2021 ““The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:22-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If our eyes are dark we can’t see God working in the world.  We can’t love him or obey him because we can’t see him.  Only when we are given the gift of sight then we can see Jesus, love him and give him the glory for all he does for us everyday.  Jesus give us eyes to see you shine in all your amazing grace.  Amen 

Sept 13, 2021  Colossians 3:9b-10 (ESV) ...”seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.” As believers in Jesus our mission is to work out our salvation.  This happens when we give up control of parts of our life. Jesus said to take up your cross daily.  When we submit our will to Jesus we start to shine by reflecting his glory. The more we trust him the more we glorify him. Jesus help us to love you and others today.  Amen 

 Sept. 12, 2021 “If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”” ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The confidence to do what you know is right.  The assurance that God will deliver you in a way that gives him the glory.  To steps that can change your life forever and in the process change the world. Jesus help me to trust you and obey your word so you may be glorified and I will receive your love.  Amen 

 Sept 11, 2021 “But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:25-26‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Wanting to be great is not a bad goal.  But to desire to control people and acting superior is sinful.  Only God is Lord and he along gets all the glory.  Therefore to be great is to live as a slave to Jesus and a servant to mankind.  Always do what Jesus says and think of others more than yourself.  Then you will have riches in heaven because it is impossible to live that way without the help of the Holy Spirit.  Ultimately God gets all the glory and we receive great joy.  Amen 

 Sept 11, 2021 Colossians 3:8-9a (ESV) “But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another....” Out of the heart the mouth speaks.  We can’t control our speech because we a new heart. If you find yourself getting upset and mad at people and circumstances then your heart needs renewing.  Our hearts tend to turn selfish and we speak selfishly. Jesus help us to know your word so your Holy Spirit will give us the faith to live and speak out of love and not selfish anger.  Amen 

 Sept 10, 2021 “Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭ When you work for gain it will never be enough to satisfy your soul.  You will always want more or something else because your heart was made to be satisfied in the Lord.  Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Jesus is the living water that will satisfy your longings and desires.  Jesus help us realize you are what we need.  Amen 

 Sept 9, 2021 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:34‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How do you know if you are the blessed or cursed by God?  Is your heart desire to please Jesus?  If you answer yes than the evidence of your heart is to love those who are needy.  You can never repay God for his grace and forgiveness of your sins but your heart will desire to help God’s sheep.  Jesus said to Peter do you love me?  Jesus said yes and Jesus said then feed my sheep.  We must have that type of heart if we truly love the Lord Jesus.  Amen 

 Sept 9, 2021 Colossians 3:4-5 (ESV) “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Jesus said I have come that you might have life and it more abundantly.  The joy of knowing and serving Jesus is true life and the more we hide his word in our hearts the more joy we will experience.  We must take up our cross daily so we can have fellowship with Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Lord help us to walk by faith and not by sight.  Let your glory shine in us today.  Amen 

 Sept 8, 2021 “And I applied my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is but a striving after wind.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If you are going to be worldly wise than you must understand the difference between right and wrong, wisdom and folly, good and evil.  What Solomon found out was it didn’t matter because in the end all die.  Without eternal life in Jesus everything doesn’t make any difference, so eat and drink for tomorrow you die!  Jesus thank you for your salvation that gives us life with you the author of eternal life.  Amen 

 Sept 7, 2021 Colossians 3:1 (NIV) “Since then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Count it all joy when you go through trials of many kinds.  Why because it grows your faith in Jesus.  In those times you know that he will never leave you or forsake you.  We must desire the creator more than what he has created.  The world is a reflection of his glory.  Jesus help us desire you more than anything.  Heaven is where are heart should be because that is where Jesus full glory can be seen and experienced totally.  Amen 

 Sept 6, 2021 “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Is this the only way to get the Father’s forgiveness if we forgive others?  Yes it is the evidence that we have been forgiven by God through the gospel.  If we truly understand that we are sinners and heading to hell.  Then Jesus opens our eyes to this truth, and shows us he has made a new way by paying for our sins.  Therefore we have been forgiven by what he has done for us. That truth is so powerful and humbling that we will have a new heart that forgives others.  If we are forgiven we forgive! If we don’t forgive others it is because we think we don’t need forgiveness.  Only God knows our heart therefore we must forgive others because it is evidence that we have received Jesus as our Savior.  Oh how important to fo...

 “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When we self reflect on our behavior in the presence of a holy, righteous God we will beat our breast and ask for mercy.  Lord Jesus open our eyes to your beauty and majesty to realize that only by your mercy and grace we can be in your presence.  If we don’t think we need a savior everyday then our pride will keep us from Jesus.  Lord help us be humble today.  Amen  September 5, 2021

 Sept 4, 2021 “It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:26-28‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We all want to be great or important or special.  Jesus who made us knows that and he gave us instructions on how to obtain that goal.  You must be a servant and slave.  Serve others and be a slave to Jesus.  Love others and obey the Lord.  When you follow Jesus’s plan for greatness it will be done unto you.  And without the Holy Spirit his plan is impossible.  Jesus help us to fulfill our desires for greatness by being fulfilled in you.  Amen 

 Colossians 2:20 “If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations” Jesus said that I have come that you might have life and it more abundantly.  He also said if the Son sets you free you are free indeed.  And, in order to save your life you must lose it for my sake and the gospel.  Jesus set us free from from the bondage of sin and the law by dying for our sins and fulfilling the law.  Our responsibility is to love him, trust him and obey him.  When we learn to follow him we will know that our faith is strong by our love for others. Jesus help us to love you more today.  Amen 

 Sept 3, 2021 Colossians 2:18-19 “Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.” Jesus said I am the way and the truth and the life. Everything we need, have and do come from Jesus. The more you know him, love him, trust him the closer you are to becoming holy and righteous. When your relationship is good with Jesus you become humble and meek because you realize all that Jesus is and has done for you. All to Jesus I freely give. Let us worship him and glorify his name today.  Amen 

 Sept 2, 2021 Colossians 2:16-17 “Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belong to Christ.” Perfect love casts out all fear. Yes, but we don’t always love perfectly and therefore we do have fear.  Jesus said fear the one who has the power to send your soul to hell. We must be motivated as believers to love Jesus and obey his commandments. And part of loving him is knowing who Jesus is and what he can do. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Jesus help us to love you with a heart that desires to please and glorify you with the wisdom that comes from knowing you should be feared for you are God. Amen 

 Sept 1, 2021 “You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭23:33‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus was accusing the holy people of there terrible behavior.  They were sure on their way to hell because they had evil in their hearts.  Jesus painted a horrible picture for them.  They should have be terrified.  So should we because we are as much if not more sinful.  The only way of escape is to come to Jesus and plead for mercy and forgiveness.  There is no other way.  Jesus thank you for your strong warning to find safety in you for you are the way to salvation.  Amen 

 Sept 1, 2021 Colossians 2:15 “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” Jesus victory over sin and death gives us great hope to be with him forever.  The war is won but there are battles that need to be still fought for Satan even lies about the outcome of the war.  We need to remind ourselves and other believers that the victory is sure and Jesus, the victor, is Lord.  Don’t let Satan deceive you!  Amen
