Serve the Lord with gladness

Ezekiel 41:18-20 “It was carved of cherubim and palm trees, a palm tree between cherub and cherub. Every cherub had two faces: 19a human face toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved on the whole temple all around. 20From the floor to above the door, cherubim and palm trees were carved; similarly the wall of the nave. Ezekiel was given a vision of the temple in heaven. The preciseness of the measurements was remarkable.  Cherubim and palm trees on the walls. Palm trees sturdy, flexible, calmness and durability they seem to represent peace in all times. A desirous tree that God gives as a blessing.  Cherubim are these amazing creatures that fly and have faces of humans and animals. God loves his creation and desires it to be by him, serving him forever. We were created for the enjoyment of God.  Now that seems self serving on God’s part but if we realize that the Lord Jesus came to ser...

Every detail is in God’s hand

Ezekiel 40:2-4 “In visions of God he brought me to the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, on which was a structure like a city to the south. 3When he brought me there, behold, there was a man whose appearance was like bronze, with a linen cord and a measuring reed in his hand. And he was standing in the gateway. 4And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.” God has a plan for his people and it is very precise. God showed Ezekiel that a new temple will be built to replace the old one that was destroyed.  His exact measurements are required to fulfill the Lords purpose. God plans the future perfectly for nothing is left to chance.because there is a God therefore there is no chance.  We must live our lives trusting in Jesus for every detail for that giv...

Trust and obey Jesus

Ezekiel 39:28-29 “Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.” The Lord God will never leave us or forsake us because he has made a covenant with the house of Israel and all those by faith were grafted in by the blood of Jesus. But God in his anger and wrath can turn his face from us because of our sin. A dark time of the soul when Jesus disciplined us for our disobedience. We may feel alone and forgotten but the truth is the Lord is always there and we need to learn to trust and obey him. When we by grace turn to once again love and obey him he pours out the Holy Spirit in our heart for our peace and joy in him and that joy will overflow to others so we will glorify his name and worship him with g...

Jesus feels our loyalty

Ezekiel 38:17-19 “Thus says the Lord GOD: Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel, who in those days prophesied for years that I would bring you against them? 18But on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused in my anger. 19For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.” Wars and rumors of wars are in the Lord’s hand. He determines what is happening and when it is to happen. God has emotions and they respond to the actions of the nations. His sovereignty does not take away from his pleasure or anger. We as Christians know that Jesus has all authority on heaven and earth. Yet we know he cried at Lazarus’s tomb. Therefore let us live our life’s praising the Lord for his love for us and know he cares and response to our behavior as a spouse that is jealous for our affections. Let’s not take advantag...

Wake up praising the Lord

Ezekiel 37:1-6 “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley;a it was full of bones. 2And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.” 4Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breathb to enter you, and you shall live. 6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.” The Lord God is creator of life. We live move and have our being because Jesus lives. So often we take life for granted until we seemed threatened by sickness and death around us. When we overcome disease, accidents...

For your name sake!

Ezekiel 36:22-29 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord GOD: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be car...

Check your words

Ezekiel 35:12-14 “I have heard all the revilings that you uttered against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given us to devour.’ 13And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and multiplied your words against me; I heard it. 14Thus says the Lord GOD: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Your words are very important to God. Every word that comes out of your mouth will be accounted for!  Especially when we say things that dishonor the Lord Jesus. God cares about your words because they come from your heart. If your heart is corrupt so will your words be also. They are a good indicator for us to know what kind of condition is are heart. Lord help us to praise you and glorify your name for we want to please you with our whole being; heart, soul, body and words!  For you glory Jesus.  Amen

Jesus is our shepherd

Ezekiel 34:11-16 “For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. 13And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD. 16I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and ...

God judges the heart

Ezekiel 33:17-20 “Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just. 18When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it. 19And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he shall live by this. 20Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways.” The Lord desires obedience and righteousness.  When we act correctly God is pleased and judges the act all the way to motive which is the heart.  Our heart must be changed for without faith it is impossible to please God.  Sinful people can do acts of righteousness but will turn to evil because their motive is self gratification.  The end is always judgment. Where as a child of God may sin but will repent for their heart will cause them to turn from evil and seek God. Lord please keep our heart’s desires on you so we may love and obey you....

Have mercy Lord

Ezekiel 31:31-32 “When Pharaoh sees them, he will be comforted for all his multitude, Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword, declares the Lord GOD. 32For I spread terror in the land of the living; and he shall be laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude, declares the Lord GOD.” The Lord God brings judgment and terror to the land of the living.  To the uncircumcised who do not trust in the Lord they will be laid down in the pit of hell. God judges the unbeliever with wrath and righteousness.  He disciplines the circumcised of the heart, believers in Jesus, for their purification and holiness. There is no other choice for a loving and just God.  If your heart is condemning you repent, if it is causing you to trust and love Jesus worship him and follow him today. Thank you Jesus for your mercy and grace to me.  Amen

Listen to God’s warning

Ezekiel 31:10-11 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because it towered high and set its top among the clouds, and its heart was proud of its height, 11I will give it into the hand of a mighty one of the nations. He shall surely deal with it as its wickedness deserves. I have cast it out.  God hates pride in people and nations. Pride gets its motivation from taking credit for creating and not giving It to God. All creation gives the Lord glory except Satan, his demons and unrepentant humans.  God’s mercy keeps the prideful from being destroyed but his patience is not forever.  His prophets cry out over and over to repent from our disobedience and give God his deserved glory. We must listen to the warnings and turn to Jesus everyday for his mercy and grace.  Amen

Forgiveness or judgment

Ezekiel 30:10-12 “Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. 11He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. 12And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am the LORD; I have spoken. The Lord uses who he chooses for his good pleasure. We must know the Lord and what he desires if we don’t what to experience his wrath. What a blessing to have been given the commandments of the Lord. God reveals to us what he wants from us and we must obey for our happiness.  God gives us eternal life in Jesus and if we desire to know him and trust him and he will be our God and dwell with us forever.  Apart from the love of Jesus is God’s judgment on us. May we learn ...

What side are you on?

Exodus 14:13-14 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”  What side is the Lord on?  No, what side of the battle are you on?  We must be on the Lord’s side!  The Lord is active and moving to accomplish his will. Our battles are his battles because he loves us.  We are always victorious when we are moving with and in him. Jesus, may we have eyes to see and hearts to know your plans for us so we can be on your side loving you.  Amen

God controls nations

Ezekiel 29:13-16 “For thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered, 14and I will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom. 15It shall be the most lowly of the kingdoms, and never again exalt itself above the nations. And I will make them so small that they will never again rule over the nations. 16And it shall never again be the reliance of the house of Israel, recalling their iniquity, when they turn to them for aid. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD.” God controls the nations, period!  Egypt and the Pharaoh became prideful and dishonored God and treated Israel, his people poorly. Therefore God scattered them and after 40 years brought them back.  But they would never be a great nation again. History proves this true and it verifies to us, Jesus is Lord God of all including nations. L...

Becoming like Jesus

Titus 2:11-12 “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,” What a wonderful goal to be like Jesus our Lord, God and savior.  I think what that means is we learn to trust and obey Jesus and his word completely, totally, and with great joy. The peace and understanding that, in all things and everywhere Jesus loves us and is working out our salvation or sanctification. We need to read his word, meditate on what it means, reflect on how it looks in our life, write your thoughts down, share them with others and then go live the day glorifying God.  I have decided to follow Jesus no turning back no turning back.  Amen

The Lord gathers

Ezekiel 28:25-26 “Thus says the Lord GOD: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and manifest my holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they shall dwell in their own land that I gave to my servant Jacob. 26And they shall dwell securely in it, and they shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall dwell securely, when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.” TheLord scatters and the Lord gathers praise the name of the Lord. There is a rest and peace fir his people but it will only come when the Lord God decides and not mankind. Let us learn that Jesus is sovereign and will bring salvation at the right time for all who will believer. Wars will come but trust the Lord for he is preparing his wife the church for great splendor so he may bless them with his amazing glory.  Thank you Jesus for you love for us.  Amen

Place your treasure in heaven

Ezekiel 27:1-4 “1The word of the LORD came to me: 2“Now you, son of man, raise a lamentation over Tyre, 3and say to Tyre, who dwells at the entrances to the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands, thus says the Lord GOD: “O Tyre, you have said, ‘I am perfect in beauty.’ 4Your borders are in the heart of the seas; your builders made perfect your beauty.” This chapter tells of all the greatness of the city of Tyre, it’s beauty, it armies, it’s business, it’s ships, it’s lavish living of its people.  Then at the end it’s destruction by the sea.  God is saying that all your efforts and security and beauty is fleeting and will end up as nothing. The Lord God is our only hope. He makes and he destroys for his good pleasure. We must seek the Lord when he is close to us for with him and in him is true everlasting life, joy, beauty and eternal pleasure. Don’t build up treasures on earth where they will not last but put your treasures in heaven that will last forever. ...

God’s people

Ezekiel 26:1-5 “1In the eleventh year, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem, ‘Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’ 3therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and will bring up many nations against you, as the sea brings up its waves. 4They shall destroy the walls of Tyre and break down her towers, and I will scrape her soil from her and make her a bare rock. 5She shall be in the midst of the sea a place for the spreading of nets, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD. And she shall become plunder for the nations, 6and her daughters on the mainland shall be killed by the sword. Then they will know that I am the LORD.” Don’t mess with God’s chosen people is once again the lesson the Lord wants us to learn. God is jealous for his people. He blesses and curses his people.  He uses other nation...

God’s chosen people

Ezekiel 25:6-7 6 “For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within your soul against the land of Israel, 7therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against you, and will hand you over as plunder to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the LORD. The Lord loves his people, his chosen possession and when you go against them you offend God himself. Israel strayed from trusting the Lord over and over and God punished them through other peoples defeating them in battles.  What is amazing is that God uses all people’s for his purpose and glory. Israel was to honor God by trusting him.  Other people were to see Israel as a special people who worship and obey the true God. When both Israel and other people disobeyed their rolls, God’s wrath was on them. We as believers are his children an...

The righteous will not die!

“In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:28‬ ‭ESV‬‬ There is no one righteous no not one, except Jesus Christ our Lord, Savior and God. His righteousness is imputed into us who believe that he came to live a perfect life, die for my sins and lives forever because of his righteousness that he gives to us by faith in him.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

Fear the Lord with gladness

Ezekiel 24:13-14 “On account of your unclean lewdness, because I would have cleansed you and you were not cleansed from your uncleanness, you shall not be cleansed anymore till I have satisfied my fury upon you. 14I am the LORD. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; I will not spare; I will not relent; according to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord GOD.” The Lord is slow to anger and desires his people to repent from their sinful ways.  But God’s patience is not limitless. He has appointed a time for mercy and a time for wrath. We his people must stay close to Jesus for in him is love and grace. If we drift away we lose the protection of his forgiveness and become an object of his wrath.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, so we need to desire God’s love and fear his judgment.  Jesus forgive us of our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  Amen

Live by the Lord’s mercy

Ezekiel 23:32-35 “Thus says the Lord GOD:“You shall drink your sister’s cup that is deep and large; you shall be laughed at and held in derision, for it contains much; 33you will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow. A cup of horror and desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria; 34you shall drink it and drain it out, and gnaw its shards, and tear your breasts; for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD. 35Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have forgotten me and cast me behind your back, you yourself must bear the consequences of your lewdness and whoring.” We live by mercy and grace and without God’s goodness we would bear the consequences of our sin. As Israel continues to leave the Lord and lust after idols we do likewise.  But if we repent of our sins and turn back to the Lord Jesus we will be saved.  We who know ourselves and know the Lord Jesus must always draw near to him for in him we live and move and have our being.  May the Lord be merciful to m...

Prayer for our nation

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for being God and opening our eyes and hearts to know and love you through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Thank you for all you have created and your love for us by sending Jesus to live and die for us so we may have fellowship with you in your grace.  Lord heal our country so it may know you and glorify your name. In your mercy poor our your Spirit in the lives of all believers so we may be light in these dark days.  Help us to boldly praise your name and glory all that you are to others who need your mercy. Thank you Father for answering our prayers for your glory.  In Jesus name, Amen

Don’t forget God!

Ezekiel 22:6-12 “Behold, the princes of Israel in you, every one according to his power, have been bent on shedding blood. 7Father and mother are treated with contempt in you; the sojourner suffers extortion in your midst; the fatherless and the widow are wronged in you. 8You have despised my holy things and profaned my Sabbaths. 9There are men in you who slander to shed blood, and people in you who eat on the mountains; they commit lewdness in your midst. 10In you men uncover their fathers’ nakedness; in you they violate women who are unclean in their menstrual impurity. 11One commits abomination with his neighbor’s wife; another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; another in you violates his sister, his father’s daughter. 12In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take interest and profit and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; but me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD. When a nation forgets God the people turn to all types of sin.  When we are not satisfied ...

Trust in Jesus for decisions

Ezekiel 21:21-23 For the king of Babylon stands at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination. He shakes the arrows; he consults the teraphim;h he looks at the liver. 22Into his right hand comes the divination for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth with murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build siege towers. 23But to them it will seem like a false divination. They have sworn solemn oaths, but he brings their guilt to remembrance, that they may be taken.” God hates divination for people try to predict the future when only God decides. When we come to a fork in the road we should ask for the Lord’s direction but to trust in our own knowledge or some type of fortune teller robs God of his glory. Throughout scripture and life we choose by our actions to love and obey God’s word or go another way.  The Bible shows us what occurs when people obey and disobey him. ...

Trust and obey Jesus

Ezekiel 20: 42-44 “And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I bring you into the land of Israel, the country that I swore to give to your fathers. 43And there you shall remember your ways and all your deeds with which you have defiled yourselves, and you shall loathe yourselves for all the evils that you have committed. 44And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I deal with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.” The Lord said to his people that he is God and they tend toward sin and not obey his rules and his sabbath. His anger is often kindled against his people but for his name sake forgives them from ultimate destruction. He also gives them the ability to please him when seeing their faults and humbly come to the Lord asking for forgiveness. God blesses them with wonderful things when their hearts seek him.  May we do like wise as his children to humble ourselves and tur...

Jesus is the way to eternal joy

Ezekiel 19:1-4 “And you, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, 2and say: What was your mother? A lioness! Among lions she crouched; in the midst of young lions she reared her cubs. 3And she brought up one of her cubs; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch prey; he devoured men. 4The nations heard about him; he was caught in their pit, and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.” The story of Israel repeated over and over for they began well and then sin overwhelmed them. We are so thankful that Jesus did not give in to sin and overcame s as ll of its temptation. The perfect lamb of God that was slain for our sins.  We can continue our path of righteousness because when we sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  Jesus you are the way of eternal joy for all who trust in you. Amen

Good news of the gospel

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. 31Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? 32For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live.” God will judge our ways!  That is the rule God has always had and will never change. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty and since he is so different than we are in his perfect righteousness he must judge unrighteousness.  God hates sin so much that he sent his son Jesus to die for sin. This also shows how much he loves us because he knows it is impossible for us to turn from our sins. His perfect plan of forgiveness of sins and the ability to turn from sin comes from faith in God’s plan of salvation. When we by faith believe in J...

Chosen to act for Jesus

“remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you,” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Being God’s chosen we act in ways that demonstrate this truth. Work of faith and labor of love seem oxymorons where faith is not works but it takes work to have faith. Love is not laborious but it takes labor to show love.  Hope can only be real if it has to wait for you don’t hope for something you have. Our Lord Jesus is a remarkable God. Amen

Humble yourself before the Lord

Ezekiel17:22-24 Thus says the Lord GOD: “I myself will take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and will set it out. I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain. 23On the mountain height of Israel will I plant it, that it may bear branches and produce fruit and become a noble cedar. And under it will dwell every kind of bird; in the shade of its branches birds of every sort will nest. 24And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the LORD; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.” Israel again shows its disobedience to their covenant with the Lord by trusting other nations to help them.  God announces that he will create a great nation and will provide for it all they need. He makes the high and proud low and the low he makes high.  In order to be on the side of the ...

Stop being a whore!

Ezekiel 16:59-60 “For thus says the Lord GOD: I will deal with you as you have done, you who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant, 60yet I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish for you an everlasting covenant.” Chapter 16 tells us about all the Lord God has done for Israel and how she abused God love. It tells of a person who has no interest in being holy and pure unto God. It is very sad to read how all of us who have been given eternal life in Jesus take it for granted and abuse God’s love and faithfulness. It ends with the Lord full of anger and judgment to keep his covenant with Israel even though they acted as the whore over and over.  Lord Jesus thank you for your faithfulness to us.  Help us to turn from our sinfulness and desire you the source of all joy and peace. Let us remember all you have done for us and with great appreciation fall on our face and worship you forever.  Amen

Give God glory by trusting him

Ezekiel 15:6-8 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7And I will set my face against them. Though they escape from the fire, the fire shall yet consume them, and you will know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. 8And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted faithlessly, declares the Lord GOD.” Over and over the Lord God gets angry toward his people for their lack of faith in him. The Lord desires his name to be glorified and he always gets what he wants. He either receives glory by his people trusting in his goodness and power to take care of them or in his wrath toward them in justice for their sin in not obeying him. We as believers in Jesus must choose to trust him and give him glory by having faith in his  work on the cross or he will be glorified by his wrath poured out on our sins. He is always fai...

Hearts for God

Ezekiel 14:4-5 “Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Any one of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and sets the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to the prophet, I the LORD will answer him as he comes with the multitude of his idols, 5that I may lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel, who are all estranged from me through their idols.” The heart is very important to the Lord for out of the heart comes thoughts, words and actions.  What is inside of our heart causes us to be holy or sinful. We as believers must have hearts that are capable of knowing and loving Jesus. If we harden our hearts and turn to idols for pleasure, comfort, success and joy we will be deceived and miss out of true joy, peace and all the fruit of true love in Jesus. We must allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate our heart to make is able to receive God’s word and obey its leading so we may glorify Jesus and enjoy his presence...

God answers prayers

Ezekiel 13:20-23 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against your magic bands with which you hunt the souls like birds, and I will tear them from your arms, and I will let the souls whom you hunt go free, the souls like birds. 21Your veils also I will tear off and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand as prey, and you shall know that I am the LORD. 22Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and you have encouraged the wicked, that he should not turn from his evil way to save his life, 23therefore you shall no more see false visions nor practice divination. I will deliver my people out of your hand. And you shall know that I am the LORD.” God hates all forms of idolatry and going to people who say they know the future in an abomination to the Lord. Knowing the future and not the Lord who holds the future is detestable. It robs God of his Lordship. Praying for direction and help is a wonder...
