Jesus is the way to eternal joy

 Ezekiel 19:1-4 “And you, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, 2and say: What was your mother? A lioness! Among lions she crouched; in the midst of young lions she reared her cubs. 3And she brought up one of her cubs; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch prey; he devoured men. 4The nations heard about him; he was caught in their pit, and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.”


The story of Israel repeated over and over for they began well and then sin overwhelmed them. We are so thankful that Jesus did not give in to sin and overcame s as ll of its temptation. The perfect lamb of God that was slain for our sins.  We can continue our path of righteousness because when we sin he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  Jesus you are the way of eternal joy for all who trust in you. Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
