Desire spiritual food

1Peter 2:1-3 “1So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.“ Growing spiritually takes two ideas that Peter tells us. One to “put away“ and the other is to “long for”. Put away hatred towards others and long for Jesus.  This can happen only if you have tasted that Jesus is satisfying to your soul. When you hear the good news have you accepted it as good, desirable and wanting more? If yes put away competing with others for treasures that don’t satisfy and desire the treasure that always satisfies and gives salvation.  Thank you Jesus for allowing us to receive your pure milk.  Amen

Ransomed from sin

I Peter 1:18-21”18knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.“ Peter is telling all of us who have faith in him that we were bought back (ransom) from our sin that was inherited from our parents.  It was done by Jesus life, death and resurrection, which is so precious and most costly.  This truth is so amazing it is difficult to understand the value of the God of the universe died for us!  He receives all the glory and we become his children forever. Amazing grace!  Thank you Jesus for loving us so much.  We love you.  Amen

Inheritance in heaven

1Peter 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, Peter who had many trials and failures in his walk with Jesus can boldly say that we have an inheritance that is kept in heaven for us!  When we look at our circumstances we can easily lose hope and turn to doubt, despair and fear.  But Peter knew that God was the one who caused us to be born again and Jesus died and  rose from the dead to give us assurance that does not depend on us or any situation that seems hopeless.  We can have confidence and praise God for his great love for us. It is based on nothing we have done but what Jesus did for us.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

The need of ears and eyes

Paul has to quote Isaiah the prophet because many did not accept his good news of Jesus.  Acts 28:26-27 “Go to this people, and say, “You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.” 27For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’“ Paul’s work serving Jesus was full of joy and disappointment. The good news of the gospel of Jesus some believe and many do not!  This great news of Jesus forgiving your sins and giving you new life in the Holy Spirit should never be rejected. The truth is that ears need to hear and eyes need to see.  This is a regeneration of God’s work on those who will believe. On our own no one can receive the good news of the gospel, only if we are born again. Pray to Jesus to open the ears and eyes of all the peop...

Change our heart Jesus

Isaiah 1: 1 8-20  Come now, let us reason c  together, says the  LORD : though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the  LORD  has spoken.” There are two paths.  One leads to eating fro the good of the land and the other leads to be eaten by the sword.  The Lord wants to reason with us and offers us good if you have your sins washed away, cleansed and become like snow and wool.  We must turn to the Lord and worship him for he is good and good to be praised.  Joy in the Lord comes when we want to obey him because we love to please him and enjoy his glory.  Out of hearts that desire God not from selfish hearts who truly don’t know him.  Jesus we beg you to change our heart everyday so we see am d...

Encourage others

Acts 27: 33-36 “As day was about to dawn, Paul urged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have continued in suspense and without food, having taken nothing. 34Therefore I urge you to take some food. For it will give you strength, for not a hair is to perish from the head of any of you.” 35And when he had said these things, he took bread, and giving thanks to God in the presence of all he broke it and began to eat. 36Then they all were encouraged and ate some food themselves.” Paul was sailing to Rome and the ship was about to crash and sink. But God told him that he must go to Rome. So being confident he did not worry about himself but turned to the others on the ship to comfort and encourage them. Eating and giving thanks to God Paul acted like Jesus and helped the people to have strength and courage.  We are called in the same way to trust God and to think of others more than ourselves because we know that nothing can separate us from the lov...

Roller coaster life

Acts 26:14-18 “Then I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15And I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. 16But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, 17delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you 18to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ Paul was testifying before King Agrippa and telling what Jesus said to him at his conversion.  Paul’s commission was great and full of trials, but when a light greater than the sun speaks to you, you know that his words will be fulfilled. The wonder...

God’s will and our will

Acts 25:10-12 “But Paul said, “I am standing before Caesar’s tribunal, where I ought to be tried. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you yourself know very well. 11If then I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death. But if there is nothing to their charges against me, no one can give me up to them. I appeal to Caesar.” 12Then Festus, when he had conferred with his council, answered, “To Caesar you have appealed; to Caesar you shall go.” Paul had wanted to go and preach the gospel in Rome.  He didn’t expect to go as a prisoner but God hears our prayers and puts thoughts in our mind to fulfill his sovereign will.  The peace to know that our desires and Jesus’ will is in some amazing way knitted together.  Our goal is to pray that God will be glorified in us in all our plans and actions. Then praise him when we are living righteously and ask for mercy and forgiveness when we sin.  Jesus always gets the prais...

Good conscience

Acts 23:16 “So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.“ Paul was before Felix the governor defending his case while in Jerusalem. Jesus taught us to respect government and to treat people justly. Paul’s  statement of taking pains to have a clear conscience toward God and man is so good because God created and is involved totally in mankind.  To honor God we treat others righteously.  Lord help us treat others with love and by so doing show our love for you.  Thank you Jesus. Amen

Trust the Bible

Acts 23:10-11 “And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into the barracks. 11The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in Rome.” Paul’s difficulties seem so typical in human drama.  Argument, violence, lying and destruction was common for Paul and throughout history.  The Bible tells us about these normal interactions and more.  It tells us that God is in control.  Nothing is outside of the Lord’s sight, knowledge and will. Jesus came to reveal God to us in a glorious way.  He told us to trust him, love him and obey him.  So when it looks hopeless remember that Jesus, the Lord God is always with us working out his plan for his glory and our ultimate joy.  Thank you Jesus. Amen

God’s appointed plan

Acts 22:10-11 “And I said, ‘What shall I do, Lord?’ And the Lord said to me, ‘Rise, and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all that is appointed for you to do.’ 11And since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me, and came into Damascus.” Paul was used by Jesus in a very special way by preaching the gospel to many areas of the world and writing letters that became a large part of the New Testament.  We praise God for using Paul in the “appointed” way in which he did. Jesus had a specific plan for Paul and because Jesus is God it happened just the way he wanted. We should take great comfort in knowing that Jesus made us and has given us specific tasks that we are to do. We have been appointed to glorify Jesus in ways that he has planned for us. When we question what is happening in our life, or we think will happen, we need to trust Jesus and know he loves us and has called us to obey him in ways that we ca...

Fear God and live

Acts 21:13-14 “Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14And since he would not be persuaded, we ceased and said, “Let the will of the Lord be done.” Don’t we all want to be like Paul and have the conviction to die for the Lord Jesus!  All that Jesus has, is, and will do for us, it seems like an easy desire!  But if we are honest, we are afraid of pain, rejection, lose and ending our life.  That is why we need to fear leaving God more than fear of losing our life.  Jesus said don’t fear those who can only kill the body but fear him who can send your soul to hell.  And that person is Jesus so instead of fearing mankind we need to run to Jesus in his word and trust him and believe his words of comfort and hope.  For the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  Paul learned that by the Holy Spirit and so can we. ...

The giver of life

Acts 20:22-24 “And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment and afflictions await me. 24But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” How could have Paul not care about his life? He said my life has no value to me. Isn’t life valuable? Yes but if you can’t keep yourself from dying then there should be something more valuable than life itself. Paul tells us that what is more valuable than life is the giver of life.  And the good news is God has graciously given himself as an offering for our sins and allow us to have life eternal!  True love tells people that if you value your life you must lose it and live for God who gave it to you and made a way to never lose it through Jesus Chr...

What is humble?

“At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What does it take to humble yourself?  Be totally dependent on someone else. Not having the ability to help yourself and know it.  You have been defeated and you can’t win even if you tried harder, think better or started sooner.  It’s a terrible place to be unless you know that God loves you.  Lord I pray you love me for I need you for everything.  Thank you Jesus

Change the world

Acts18:26-27 “And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods. 27And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be counted as nothing, and that she may even be deposed from her magnificence, she whom all Asia and the world worship.” Jesus changed the world by coming and living among us for a little while. His words, life, miracles, death and resurrection made all the difference.  When the Holy Spirit fills people change happens. The old passes away and we are new every morning.  Paul was changed and he was used to change the world. The same Holy Spirit lives in us and he is still working to change the world through us. The good news of the gospel changes lives and we must be sensitive to his leading. Lord Jesus use us to change the world for your glory and our ...

Jesus is Lord

Acts 17: 2-3 “And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.” The Old Testament was what Paul used to prove Jesus is the Christ. Jesus fulfilled all the law and prophets by his life, death and resurrection.  God does everything perfectly!  That is hard to believe since no one has ever done that before him and no one has ever done it after him.  We must praise Jesus, love him and obey him for who he is and what he has done and is doing for us.  I pray that we learn, see, understand that Jesus is Lord over everything to the praise of God the father.  For Jesus glory and our joy!  Amen

Faith to pray

Faith in God produces a peace in horrific situations.  When you know that the God of the universe is always with you your needs and desires change.  If you believe that Jesus is always with you than your worry about this life changed from save me to use me for your glory.  Changed from I need to your will be done.  May our faith increase so we know how and what to pray for.  Thank you Jesus for loving us and always being with us.  In Jesus name, Amen

Learning about Jesus

Acts 16:14-15 “One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. 15And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.“ Lydia was the first Christian in Europe and was used by God.  God prepared her to hear from Paul about Jesus by opening her heart. She worshiped what she already knew about God and Jesus brought Paul to her to tell her how Jesus saved her! As believers in Jesus we never stop learning more and more about Jesus since he is God and he has an infinite amount of wonder!  Learning is a glorious gift that honors God and brings us joy if we realize that everything was made by God and for God then when we learn anything we are learning about the Lord.  We who hearts are open give Jesus all the...

God can fix us

Acts 15:11 “But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” What must I do to be saved has been the question throughout history.  When we come to realize that we mess up we want to be fixed.  The good news of God is that he can fix us. Jesus said you must be born again.  We did nothing to be born and we can do nothing to be born again.  It is a gift through faith.  You hear the good news that Jesus lived a perfect life and died for our sins (mess ups) and rose from the grave for our justification and you believe it. You live in that truth, enjoy God’s love, share this fact with all who will listen.  This is what God desires, for his name to be glorified.  Thank you Jesus for loving us.  For your name sake. Amen

A cell for Jesus

Rise and have no fear!  Jesus is our only hope to be in the presence of a holy God and not perilous.  Jesus’s our Savior in so many ways.  We trivialize what he is for us because we don’t realize how sinful we our and how holy God is.  We try to make God in our own image and don’t realize it is the other way.  It would be like one cell of our body thinking the body was just a big cell.  That would be a disaster!  Thank you Jesus for making us and help us realize who you are and who we our but just a little cell!  Amen

Seeds of doubt

Acts 14:14-15 “But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their garments and rushed out into the crowd, crying out, 15“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.” Paul healed a man who was crippled and the people who saw it thought that Paul and Barnabas were gods! So they sad no but turn to God the creator of all things.  God has put in the hearts of all people the knowledge that someone created the heavens and the earth.  You have to be taught otherwise to not believe it.  Satan wants to deceive us and not give God the credit for his wonderful creation.  It is amazing how many non believers love nature but not the God who created it. Nothing can create itself it must have a creator.  Let us be thankful for all that Jesus has created for his glory ...

Don’t Compare but trust

Acts 12:1-3 “About that time Herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. 2He killed James the brother of John with the sword, 3and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. ” James the first apostle who was martyred was not made much of in this account. In the gospels he was one of the three who Jesus was closest.  Peter, James, and John were at the transfiguration of Jesus. It seems like Peter and John had major roles in the church where James was hardly mentioned except Herod killed him!  God uses us the way he wants to use us and it is always for our good.  When we compare ourselves to others we can either boast or complain and both are sinful. We need instead to get to know Jesus more and to realize how much he loves us and to trust him completely.  Oh the joy of knowing and loving Jesus!  Lord please help us to trust you more today.  In Jesus name.  Amen

Jesus works in and for us

Acts 11: 20-21”But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. 21And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.” The hand of the Lord was with them.  This statement was written to show us that Jesus builds his church and he uses mankind to do it. This is how Jesus works in all believers and I believe in all people.  The big difference is Christians know God is always working in their life and give him praise or ask him for forgiveness.  In all ways Jesus gets the glory and we realize how much he loves us.  Today it is Good Friday because we celebrate the victory over sin by our Lord Jesus and we praise and thank him.  You are most glorious Jesus and we thank you.  Amen

Judge and Savior

Thought of the day “And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:42-43‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This is a remarkable statement Peter gave to Cornelius, the first Christian gentile.  God appointed Jesus judge and savior.  Jesus sends people to hell and saves people from hell. He didn’t have to die for our sins but he did.  Jesus does not have to plead for our forgiveness, because he did it.  When the judge gives you forgiveness by taking on his own wrath (the father and I are one)then you are truly secure in his act of love for you.  It is amazing how much Jesus loves us.  Stir my heart oh Lord make it always true to stay in love with you.  Thank you Jesus! Amen

Fear is the beginning of wisdom

“If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared.” Because the Lord forgives iniquities (sin) we should fear the Lord.  Now this sounds backward, why should you fear someone who forgives?  Shouldn’t you fear an unforgiving Lord?  If you can’t be forgiven than you must not sin!  Well there are two ways to solve the sin issue apart from forgiveness.  One you don’t think you sin or two that God (righteous judge) doesn’t exist.  If you know there is a God and you know that he is just then you fear the consequences of your sin. Once you know that you dishonored him their is tremendous fear of him.  The good news is that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.  The gospel of God is the conclusion of wisdom.  Thank Jesus for being the wisdom of God.  For his glory and our joy!  Amen ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Chosen to suffer

“But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name."” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:15-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Paul was chosen by Jesus to serve him.  He was also chosen to suffer for Jesus.  Is this how God works in the lives of believers?  If you knew that the Lord of the universe has chosen you to suffer for him would you be thankful our upset?  Paul suffered much and yet his writings have been full of love, joy, peace and glory for Jesus.  When we as believers go through difficult times we should not be surprised but count it all joy for it let’s us know that we have been chosen by Jesus.  We are his children and therefore blessed if we continue in faith.  Jesus help us to love you and glorify your name today.  Amen

Change my heart oh Lord

Acts 8: 21-22 “You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God. 22Repent, therefore, of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord that, if possible, the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.” Peter knew about having a sinful heart when he denied Jesus three times. When this man named Simon wanted to buy the gift of laying on of hands for receiving the Holy Spirit, Peter rebuked him and told him to repent. Knowing the motivation of our own heart is very important because we know God cares about our heart.  It is easy to have sinful motivations and we need to repent and ask for forgiveness. We often think we know the heart of others but that is often difficult and we must be motivated by love for the person as we help them with their negative intentions.  We need to pray to Jesus who knows all hearts to help us with our hearts and the hearts of our loved ones.  For only God can change the heart and I pray he is changing it d...

It’s all about Jesus

“Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:73‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We can do nothing without our God who made us and has given us understanding about him.  The key to life is knowing and loving Jesus Christ.  All knowledge, all wisdom, all truth and all joy is found in him. He is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end.  In him we live and move and have our being.  It’s all about you Jesus our Lord, Savior and God.  Thank you Jesus for revealing yourself to us.  Amen

Reflecting God’s glory

Acts 7: 48-50 “Yet the Most High does not dwell in houses made by hands, as the prophet says, 49“‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what is the place of my rest? 50Did not my hand make all these things” What can we give to God that he needs? Some say our love, or our hands and feet to tell others about him, or our praise to him.  The Lord Jesus made all things so how can we as creators give God anything that he is lacking?  The answer is we can’t. God needs nothing because he is God. If he ever needed anything he would stop being God and all that is would be not!  So what is our purpose for being created, loved, forgiven and children of God?  To reflect Jesus glory, to realize how great God is to us and to praise him and be amazed of all he did, is doing, and will do forever for us!  A bird reflects God’s glory but doesn’t know it.  We reflect Jesus glory and know it and sin...

Can’t control your heart

“But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:18-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How do you know your heart?  What you love, desire, care most about is in your heart.  Jesus said what comes out of your mouth is what is in your heart.  Words matter a lot.  Jesus was the Word of God.  In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God.  Can a man control his tongue?  James said if you could you would be perfect.  Jesus did and no one else.  That is because we cannot control our heart!  Only the Holy Spirit can control our hearts.  We should learn that we are not in control and thank Jesus for all we do that is pleasing to him and pray for forgiveness when we think we are in control! Amen

Full of grace and power

Acts 6:8 “ Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people.“ Stephen was the first Christian martyr and had great boldness to speak the truth about Jesus. When we read about others throughout history there have been many people that did mighty acts and showed their love, faith and obedience to Jesus.  So much that they were willing to die for Jesus’ honor and glory.  Wouldn’t be wonderful if we all had that courage, strength and love for Jesus to be willing to be a martyr for the one who died for us!  We need to see what verse 8 says more closely and hope in Christ.  It says he was “full of grace and power”.  Full of grace or full of an undeserved gift and power.  It seems that Stephen received a gift from Jesus of power to do what was needed for Jesus glory.  When we serve Jesus we do it in his power not our own. His power is given when he works in us to glorify him. What is required is hope, belief and faith in ...

Worshipping Jesus

“And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:33‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When are moved by all Jesus has done and is doing to save you and keep you in his protection to worship him?  He deserves our worship and praise everyday.  Does your heart leap for joy when you are stirred by his love, awed by his power and amazed by his sacrifice?  We need to be daily worshipping the God and Savior of our souls.  When we do Jesus gets all the glory and we get the joy!! Thank you Jesus.  Amen

Key to Eternal life faith in Jesus

Acts 5:29-32 “But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” Jesus is the Lord and our Savior just like scripture says. History about Jesus is true. Jesus died for our sins and was raised from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God our father.  This is true and the apostles are eye witnesses and proclaimed the same truth.  This truth is 2000 years old and it is just as true today as it was throughout history. Some people believed it back then and some believe it now.  Oh I pray that we all believe for it is by faith in knowing who Jesus is and what he has done for us that is the key to eternal life. I pray that Jesus gives us this key ever...

Our Creator God

“When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Do you ever wonder why some people are so nice, kind, caring and full of love? Is it something that you inherit or learn or has evolved over years and years?  We are made by a God who has given us characteristics that are like his. Jesus had compassion on the people.  He was not required to act that way, he was not fulfilling prophecy he was showing them his love. God created Satan because he needed evil in the world so he could show us his mercy and forgiveness. God hates sin and that is another characteristic of God that he shows us.  When you reflect on what God has made and realize that we are a part of his creation we should rejoice that he allows us to experience a beautiful sunset, the scent of a flower, taste of great food, a smile of a mother, a hug of a friend and any other pleasure you have enjoyed. When difficulties happen we know he ha...

Repent from your ignorance

Acts 3:17-19 “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. 19Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,“  When we do not trust and obey Jesus we are ignorant because Jesus loves us, made us, keeps us, and knows exactly what we need!  What can be more stupid than not to obey with joy his teachings and the Holy Spirit when he prompts you through scripture.  But u fortunately our heart tends toward doubt and unbelief, therefore ignorance is common.  If only knowledge was needed to trust Jesus we might be able to obey, but it takes faith and that is a gift.  Everyday we must pray for faith and repent when we don’t live through it.  Jesus didn’t die for our salvation, he died for our daily ignorance.  So praise him for his faithfulness to us even when we are not faithful to him.  All glor...

Amazing faith is a gift from God

Acts 2:12-13 “And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13 But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine”. The Holy Spirit just descended upon the apostles and they were speaking in different languages the glory of Jesus.  It was amazing but like always some didn’t believe.  How could someone who experience this wonderful event doubt what they experienced?  Believe is a gift always and unbelief is our natural state!  When we say we know or believe we often think it is normal but truly it is a wonderful gift every time we understand what God is doing.  That faith changes our heart to joy in knowing that God loves us and is in control of all things.  Don’t take God’s gift of faith as normal,  it is the gift of eternal life.  Thank you Jesus for allowing me to trust in you.  Amen
