Child of the most high God

 “So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?””

‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We are asked in many different ways "who are you"?   How you answer determines what you think of yourself.  Are you the son or daughter of someone, what is your occupation, who are your friends, how wealthy and successful are you?  What do you think makes you who you are?  The answer should be a child of God, bought by the cost of the blood of Jesus.  That is the most important characteristic all believers possess.  Lord help us to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ who made us a child of the most high God!  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
