Win the battle with love

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.”


‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We our the children of God, day, light, righteousness, holiness and truth.  We battle against Satan, evil, night, lies, deception and death.   Therefore, we must put on battle armor which protects our heart and our mind.  Our mind must remember that Jesus died for our sins and nothing can separate us from his love since while we were still sinners Jesus died for us.  So how much more will he protect and keep us safe from the enemy.  Then we must protect our heart with faith in future grace that God will provide a way for us to love others.  The world might lie and cheat us  but if you remember Jesus' love for you, and have faith in his grace then you can love those who treat you wrong.  Love overcomes evil and with the help of the Holy Spirit we can win the war against darkness and shine light wherever we go.  Lord help us to win the battle against sin and Satan.  All praise to you Lord Jesus. Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
