Jesus is more than enough

 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬


Why is the love of money a sin against God?  Is it not a replacement for trusting in Him?   Money can buy you your desires if you think we only live today and tomorrow ends everything.  No God, no judgement of sin, no heaven, no hell, only today's pleasures and with the money you have the more pleasure you can receive.  But if you believe scripture and the good news of Jesus there is joy for today and great hope for tomorrow.  Jesus said come and buy live everlasting without money.  You can't buy with money Jesus love and forgiveness only by faith in his fullness.  When you realize God's sacrificial love for you, there is nothing money can give you.  Jesus' love is more than enough, it is a well spring of living water overflowing into eternal life.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
