Evil thoughts

 “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.””

‭‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭21‬, ‭23‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We need to check our heart to see if evil is present.  Evil is anything that goes against God's word.  Evil doubts God's love for us by giving us directions and rules that allow us to have a close relationship with God the source of all joy and peace.  Evil tells God he is not enough for me, I need more to satisfy my desires.  Lord forgive me of my evil thoughts and give me the grace to desire you more than anything.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
