Consecrate our children

“And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

A wise father knows and cares for his children even when the become adults.  Job knew that feasts are times when sin can enter into the heart and sin brings separation with God.  Job consecrated his children after the feast which could mean he physically or in his thoughts, separated them from sin (the actions from the feast) and placed them toward God.  Then he offered forgiveness on their behalf by a sacrifice.  Wow, how important Job felt about the cleansing of sin and a healthy relationship with God.  We can't get our kids in heaven but Job tried to make it easy for his children to believe.  We should do likewise.  Lord help us to make our relationship with you most important for our children.  Amen
