Humble living

“Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬


In order to be humble before God it takes a belief that God exists and he loves us so much that he sent Jesus to save us from our sinful heart.  Then the work of belief and trust begins.  We need God for every part of our life.  Nothing that we think, say, or do, can be done without God, Nothing!  Being a humble person knows this truth and is constantly thinking, saying, and acting in submission to the Lord.  We are never alone and always in need of God.  This attitude shines out in joy, peace, love, kindness, and great adoration to the Lord Jesus who made this humble life possible.  Lord help us grow in the knowledge of this truth of our constant need for you! Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
