Sow for eternity

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬


How do we sow to the Holy Spirit?  Sowing is planting seed into the ground because you want a certain crop to eat.  It's putting effort to obtain a goal.  If our goal is a happy life  we do everything the world says to obtain it.  Obtain money, possessions, positions, health, and security to keep what we worked (sowed) hard to get.  It can occupy all our efforts and at the end we lose it all.  If we sow to the Holy Spirit we give up our life as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, knowing that Jesus loves us and died for our sins.  We love our enemies and trust that God will provide us our daily bread.  This sowing will reap the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control, which leads to eternal life.  As believers it's our choice everyday where we sow our seed.  Lord help us to choose wisely!   Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
