Free to love and die

“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬


This verse is so wonderful that its truth can change your life.  We are born sinners, slaves to evil, selfish, sinful desires that Satan controls.  The day our eyes and heart were open to Jesus sacrificial death for us we are transferred from the bondage of selfishness unto the kingdom of God where love dominates all behavior.  We are free to choose other people's good over ours for we know we are a child of God.  Lord let this truth penetrate our heart that we are free to love and die, for Jesus did just that for us!  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
