Intimacy with God

”For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.“

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬


Humans are always wanting to be a part of something special.  Often it means separating themselves from others and becoming in their minds better.  We were made to have an intimate relationship with God. When sin came it destroyed our intimacy with God yet the desire still existed.  We try to meet that desire with other things that will never fulfill us, which often leads to sinful acts that hurt others.  The solution came when Jesus restored our relationship with God.  Our desire for intimacy with God now fulfilled we can now care for others and not expect more than they can give us.  Jesus said you shall know the truth and it will set you free to love others more than ourselves because we have experienced the intimate love of God.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
