Honest God Truth

 April 30, 2024 ”But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Scripture has the power to imprison what sin controls.  The devils power over us is our sinful nature.  The good news of Jesus is that he conquered sin and made Satan powerless for those who have faith in Jesus Christ.  Those who believe will be attacked by the devil to doubt the work of Christ so the promises of scripture are essential because the Holy Spirit uses these truths to help us fight the good fight of faith.  Thank you Lord for your word, please help us read and meditate on it daily.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen  

 April 29, 2024 ”For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ It seems that when we receive anything by grace we struggle with it.  When we think we earn a reward it is easier to accept and when we don't receive what we think we earned we are angry.  This all must be sin for we can only receive from God anything we have since God created everything including us!  What we are made to do is receive from God all things and praise him for giving us life and salvation and understanding of who we are and who he is.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

 April 28, 2024 ”And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.“ ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Righteousness is doing what is right.  Believing in God's word is right.  What God has done in the past, present, and future and believing it happened, is happening, and will happen is right.  When we live our lives as an outcome of our belief in God's word we show ourselves and the world around us we are a child of Abraham and a child of God.  Praise you Jesus for saving us and all those who believe in God's word.  Amen

 April 27, 2024 ”That same night the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against the camp, for I have given it into your hand. But if you are afraid to go down, go down to the camp with Purah your servant.“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Fear is a part of most people God uses for his glory.  Maybe it is because they have little confidence in themselves and think that God could not use them.  God gives each person their characteristics and often those who have talents and skills that are desirable, Satan can turn into pride and God won't use.  Everything comes from God and we should honor him with everything we have and trust him more than our own strength.  Amen

 April 27, 2024 ”Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith—“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The statement "by hearing with faith is key to being and living as a believer in Jesus Christ.  Both hearing and faith are gifts of grace that God uses for us to believe and grow.  We have to hear the good news of Jesus over and over because by it we renew our minds to obey the Holy Spirit. He causes us to put our faith in what we hear and read.  The demons hear the news of Jesus and hate it.  Only those who have the Holy Spirit believe and love Jesus.  Our faith increases the more we hear the promises of God in Scripture.  Lord give us the desire to be more like you as our faith in you increases by hearing your truths  that tell us  we are your children saved by grace.  Amen

 April 26, 2024 "So Gideon took ten men of his servants and did as the Lord had told him. But because he was too afraid of his family and the men of the town to do it by day, he did it by night.“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭6‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Doubt, fear and lack of faith cannot stop God from using us. Therefore we should count it all joy when we go through trials of unfaithfulness for when the Lord strengths our faith we will praise him even more!  We will know that even our faith is a gift. If God is on our side our future is secure.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 April 24, 2024 ”For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party.“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Humans are always wanting to be a part of something special.  Often it means separating themselves from others and becoming in their minds better.  We were made to have an intimate relationship with God. When sin came it destroyed our intimacy with God yet the desire still existed.  We try to meet that desire with other things that will never fulfill us, which often leads to sinful acts that hurt others.  The solution came when Jesus restored our relationship with God.  Our desire for intimacy with God now fulfilled we can now care for others and not expect more than they can give us.  Jesus said you shall know the truth and it will set you free to love others more than ourselves because we have experienced the intimate love of God.  Praise you...

 April 22, 2024 Obey the Lord out of love ”And they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. They went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed down to them. And they provoked the Lord to anger.“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God punishes sinful behavior.  He is patient but he is just.  If we take the mercy of God as an excuse not to obey him we will receive our just reward.  Yes Jesus forgives our sins but if we expect the Lord to always have mercy we don't love him as we should.  Lord let us delight in your law and honor you with our obedience.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

April 21, 2024  ”When Israel grew strong, they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not drive them out completely.“ ‭‭Judges‬ ‭1‬:‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬ It is very easy to compromise and not obey the Lord's commands.  It happens over and over and the results often cause difficulties.  Lord help us to trust you and obey your laws for they are for your glory and our joy.  Amen

 April 19, 2024 ”(For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.)“ ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Humans take pride in their accomplishments and many work hard to achieve great things.  But the truth about every good thing is that it comes from the Lord God. All things have their origination from him. It is evil not to recognize the author and finisher of all things.  We need to know the truth and when we recognize Jesus as God, this truth about his saving grace will set us free.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

 April 19, 2024 ”For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The world is looking for the answer to the problems of the world and often states the ultimate question, why God?  So then when things go the way they like they say how lucky they are.  But if they don't understand or don't like the results of circumstances they get upset and get made at God!  The answer is to hear from God and give us understanding and hope for our future.  The gospel of Jesus truly is good news if we can hear and believe in his love.  Lord help us to love and obey you more each day.  Amen

 April 18, 2024 ”The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭25‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Fear of man tells us that we are struggling with trusting God's promises.  We are commanded to trust in the Lord with all your heart so when we don't we are not obeying God.  We should fear not obeying God instead of fearing men.  Fear has its place so fear the one who loves us and desires our best.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

 April 17, 2024 ”who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,“ ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Why did Jesus die for our sins?  To deliver us from this present evil age.  Deliver means to rescue or save from a danger.  Jesus rescued us from the sin in this world. God hates sin and he hates that sin causes a divide between his creation and himself.  Therefore Jesus gave himself up to deliver us from sin.  Something we could never do on our own but only God can do for us.  All praise to the Lord God for his love for us.  Amen

 April 16, 2024 ”God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”“ ‭‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭24‬ ‭ESV‬‬ There are two things we must have is the Holy Spirit and the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Without these two our worship is in vain.  Humans worship many things that they think brings them joy.  But only worshiping Jesus gives us lasting joy for he is the only eternal one that gives us life and mercy.  And knowing of Jesus can't save us, we must be born of the Holy Spirit  then we can worship in spirit and in truth.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 April 14, 2024 ”For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God's eternal power and divine nature are clearly perceived by the creation of the world.  We look out at everything that is and we say wow!  Who made this and what an amazing person who could do all this.  So much power so much greater than us.  Our only response is amazing grace all this I can enjoy and I did nothing to deserve it!  It's like being born you did nothing, it was God using your mother.  Being born again you did nothing it was God using his Son Jesus.  Amazing grace we are blessed beyond understanding.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

 April, 13, 2024 ”“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”“ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ This verse should be sung in your heart and shout with joy.  Lord Jesus you are worthy of all praise for you have created all things and did it all according to your will.  The awesome truth of this is overwhelming and should cause us to know you better, obey you more and love you with all our heart.  Nothing is greater than you and you have invited us to be a part of your amazing love.  All praise, honor, power and glory is your Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen 

 April 12, 2024 ”For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.“ ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ All humans have a deep desire to know their origin.  Where did we come from and who made us?  Some people stop with their parents and grandparents but others need to trace their beginnings way back if possible.  In this verse the Bible says that he was the person that created you in your mother's womb.  And he has been doing this all the way back to Cain.  Therefore we should get to know our creator if we desire to know where we came from and how we should live.  Thank you Jesus for making us and saving us.  Amen

 April 10, 2024 ”Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.“ ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How do you receive righteousness from God?  This verse says to sow the seeds of righteousness by breaking up the hard soil and call out to God for ran that will grow righteous plants.  We must check our heart and see if it is getting hard and not allowing the seeds of righteousness, scripture, to penetrate.  Breaking up the hardness, repenting, allows the righteous seeds to be planted on our heart then God's righteous rain, Holy Spirit, comes in and we have the power and love to live righteously, trusting in God's promises.  Lord we need to experience your love and power everyday to live for you.  Amen 

 April 8, 2024 ”Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.“ ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How can we clean ourselves from what is dishonorable?  Only if we are born again with a new heart then we have become honorable vessels.  We must choose to be holy in our thoughts, speech, and actions.  When we do God can use us to glorify his name.  Lord help us become what you made us to be.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 April 8, 2024 ”Were I to write for him my laws by the ten thousands, they would be regarded as a strange thing. For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces, and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; so I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour her strongholds.“ ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬, ‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When times are good we tend to forget God and only enjoy his blessings.  Our sinful nature only wants to please our own needs and desires.  We start to float away from our maker.  We must have a changed heart that finds joy in our relationship with the Lord more than our own self comfort.  Jesus help us to know your love and desire you more than anything in this life.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen 

 April 6, 2024 ”I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.“ ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God showed his love for us when we were slaves to sin by sending Jesus as our savior. Now we are free from our old sin master to be slaves of God as our master.  What a wonder master we have that bought us out of sin and death by dying for us on the cross.  Oh the joy of being a slave to Jesus the light of the world.  Praise you Lord God. Amen

 April 5, 2024 ”I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.“ ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭5‬:‭15‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Oh how patience is the Lord that he is available when we turn from our sin.  He does not close his door on his people even when they turn from his love.  Lord Jesus help us to know and understand your unfailing love for us and come to you for help.  Let us realize that you are the source of all life.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen

 April 3, 2024 ”But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”“ ‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How can we look at the heart and interact with others like the Lord?  We must get to know people, have relationships with them.  Learn to share our heart so we can get to know their heart.  Only the Lord can know our heart without a relationship with him but we can't know his unless we get to know him through his creation, his word and the Holy Spirit.  Lord Jesus let us know your heart.  Amen  

 April 3, 2024 ”Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God, and David their king, and they shall come in fear to the Lord and to his goodness in the latter days.“ ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬  Come in fear to the Lord and his goodness.  Fear and goodness often come together.  Healthy fear has positive consequences when we go astray for we all need correction at times on life's journey.  God disciplines his children because he loves them and it often produces fear.  The goodness of God we all desire and we should fear his consequences when we fall short of his glory.  Praise you Lord God.  Amen

 April 2, 2024 ”Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.“ ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31‬:‭30‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Charm can be deceptive for it plays on the heart of the lonely.  And beauty is vain for it fades with time and its attractiveness disappears.  But a women/man who fears the Lord can be counted on in good and difficult times.  The Lord is eternal, everlasting and worthy of our praise and honor.  So a person who knows the Lord and understands that all things come from him then fearing him is a wise and sensible way to live for their dependability will fail not.  Praise the Lord for people who fear him.  Amen 

 April 1, 2024 ”but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.“ ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ A gentle and quiet spirit is very precious in God's sight.  God wants us to be at peace with ourselves.  He wants us to know that he made us and has a plan and purpose for us.  Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus is to trust and obey.  When we learn how to live knowing God is always with us then we will have a gentle and quiet spirit that depends on the Lord daily.  Praise you Jesus.  Amen
