Live by faith in Jesus

”I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.“

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬


What does it mean to live by faith in the Son of God?  Three words that need to be understood live, faith, and the Son of God.  Live is the opposite of death, it is active, thinking and moving, with emotions and feelings.  When a stimulus occurs a person who is living responds.  How they respond depends on what they believe will happen at the moment of interactions.  Will the interaction be positive or negative often corresponds to their faith.  If faith is based in the knowledge that the interaction will be safe, their responds will be good.  Faith in the Son of God is extremely  strong since nothing is more safe than God.  Living by faith in God gives boldness that allows one to be loving, kind, selfless for it believes that God will keep them safe in any interaction.  Jesus said I have come to give you life and it more abundantly.  Lord help us to live by faith in you and know that you love us.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
