The logic of peace

 Aug 26, 2023

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Why does praying give you peace?  It is not an automatic formula of pray first then get peace.  God can't be minimized to ritualistic actions.  God gave us a mind that thinks and reasons.  When we don't like a situation we want it to change and if we pray and it doesn't change how can we have peace?  Should we give up our intelligence and stop thinking then God will give us peace? No, we pray to the Creator God through the blood of Jesus his son, for we know that only through Jesus can we come into God's presence. God is holy and we are sinners and to have access to God is only by being clothed with the righteousness of Jesus. And we know that God loves us through Jesus and He  has the power to do everything that is good for us.  So we should pray and tell God our desires and know he hears us and loves us. When we logically go though this process we conclude that whatever we are going through it will be for our good because God is with us and is in control of all things.  This truth is logical and we conclude that we will be ok and that gives us peace.  Therefore we can be joyful in all circumstances because of our relationship with God through Jesus.  Oh the grace of the Lord to make us a part of his family through the cross of Jesus.  Amen
