Honest God Truth

 May 26, 2023 “But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” ‭‭Micah‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In the presence of all this sinful, destructive relationships Micah will look and wait on the Lord for his salvation.  This is always the response to sin, stand firm, resist the temptation to fight back, wait on the Lord's justice.  We are not alone for the Lord God is with us and inside us.  Open our eyes Lord so we can see Jesus winning and directing the battle for his glory and our joy.  Amen 

 May 23,2023 “The voice of the Lord cries to the city— and it is sound wisdom to fear your name: “Hear of the rod and of him who appointed it!” ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God is merciful and just and forgives who he forgives.  We know he shows mercy by sending Jesus to pay for our sins.  He would not be just if Jesus did not come and therefore could not show mercy.  God saves all whose eyes he opens to put their faith in Jesus work on the cross.  Those who are blind will receive their just payment for sin which is eternal death separation from God's love.  Oh believer praise God for his grace that saved you and strive with holy fear to enter God's gates with thanksgiving.  Amen 

May 20, 2023  Justice, justice we all want justice for those who treat us poorly and we all want mercy when we do wrong to God and others.  Oh do we need a new heart that loves God and others.  God sent his Son because he loved us and loved justice.  We must want God more than being selfish.  Obeying the righteousness of God must be our greatest delight.  Loving God and hating evil.  All this is called becoming holy and only by Jesus righteousness imputed on us can it happen.  Oh how we love you Lord Jesus.  Amen

 May 19, 2023 So we must define "doing good."  It does not mean being good for Jesus said no one is good but God.  So doing good and being good are not totally the same.  But what is truly good?  Sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus is good for without it all people will parish.  And if the Holy Spirit is leading and directing you than because he is God in us we can be good!  So therefore it seems that we must constantly be lead by the Holy Spirit and be doing good!  Lord God help us to be and do good today.  Amen 

 May 11, 2023 “Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the Lord and say, “Is not the Lord in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.”” ‭‭Micah‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We are God's people who are saved by grace through faith alone.  God did it all and because of that we may fall into sins temptation that we have no work to do.  But we must work out our salvation, choose to be holy as our Heavenly Father is holy.  This is done by the power and will of the Holy Spirit but we must be actively involved.  Jesus said his burden is easy because he loves to please his father.  Let's not fall into the temptation of saying Jesus will forgive us and not strive for perfection for he said be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect.  It is all grace and we are free to work with all our heart in our position of grace.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

 May 9, 2023 Increase our faith “They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,” ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We all have felt the loneliness of losing a loved one.  It just feels unnatural.  The closer the person was the more difficult it is to lose them.  The more dependent you were on them the more you realized there importance.   The Lord Jesus gives us life and all the good we ever experience.  The Bible says in him we live, move, and have our being.  Therefore to be separate from his love would be hell, eternal hell!  Maybe God is teaching us when we lose a love one that we must not lose him!  Lord increase our faith in you.  Amen 

 May 4, 2023  Dear Laura, Thank you for your invitation to connect with the Honors College.  Since I am a senior citizen the pursuit of truth is not only an intellectual appealing experience. It is essential for everyone who sees their mortality fading away and desiring to obtain the truth of human existence.  If our hope and understanding is not true then we our running up the wrong hill even if it is an exhilarating experience.  My pursuit of truth has lead me to the Bible and the understanding of its meaning has been tremendously hopeful and exciting.  Those who believe its claims, trust it is the very words of the living God.  It offers eternal life in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
