God's love

“We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.”

‭‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭31‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We all want attention, being ignored is hard to take.  We go through life trying different tactics to receive approval, acceptance, being liked.  We were made to receive love.  This love that truly satisfies our longing of acceptance and attention must come from God.  The problem is we are sinners and God hates sin.  Therefore we need to be fixed in order for God to hear us and give us his acceptance and love.  Our faith in Jesus dying for our sins is the only way God will listen to and have fellowship with him.  Our sins are forgiven and we are counted as righteous when we believe in the gospel.  Praise you Jesus you allowed us to receive God's love.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
