Win the Battle

Theology 101.  Why sin, killings, lying, stealing, evil.  What does the Bible tell us?


Then the people of the land discouraged the people of Judah and made them afraid to build and bribed counselors against them to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.”

Throughout the Bible we are told of the battle God’s people are in against Satan and evil spirits often within mankind.  This world is run by Satan because of sin.  God has chosen his people out of Satan’s control to glorify him by living in a way that trusts God and glorifies him.  Those who are slaves to Satan do his will with joy for they love their sin and hate God and his people.  In our politically correct society we are told that every one is nice and only do bad things when they make a mistake.  That is so unbiblical!  Lord give us the ability to read your word and know that we are fighting a battle that you have won, but the war is not over until you return.  We can win each battle by trusting in your promises told us in the Bible.  They can be summarized by, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
