Think wisely

“Brothers, do not be children in your thinking. Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Mature thinking is knowing and learning the ways to please God.  If you are going to please God you have to get to know him and the best place he is revealed is in scripture.  Jesus said I am the way and the truth and the life no one comes to God but by me.  Learning about the Lord Jesus in the Old Testament, (when you read LORD), and New Testament you are learning who God is and what pleases him.  Evil is not believing in God’s words.  Not trusting him!  Therefore be wise in your thinking and get to know and trust Jesus our Savior and Lord.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
