Judge others out of love
Matthew 7:1-5 (ESV)
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgement you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
What is my motive when I judge others? Is it in revenge from the way they have treated me? Do they represent a group of people I believe are wrong in their words and deeds? Judging others before listening and learning who they are and what they do is wrong. We are sinning when we judge others before knowing who they are and what are their needs and desires. Often we have similar problems that cause us to act unloving as much as they seem to be acting. We need to judge out of love not unknown revenge. Jesus help us to be quick to listen and learn and slow to judge without understanding. Then your love will flow through us to help others to overcome their sins. Amen
