Jesus is the source of righteousness

 “So the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight. the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18:24, 32‬ ‭ESV‬‬

David states two truths that we must in brace, one that we must be righteous in our thoughts and actions for the Lord to bless us.  Two, the Lord gives us the ability and direction to be righteous.  If we desire God’s blessings we need to be connected to Jesus.  He is the vine and we are the branches and can do nothing righteous without him.  So we must ask ourselves if we have a relationship with Jesus.  Do we love him, desire being in his presence, share his love with others?  Lord help me to be righteous by knowing you are the source of all meaningful life.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
