How do you know you are saved?

 Philippians 3:2 (ESV)

“Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. We are saved by faith and that is a gift.” 


Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died on the cross to pay for all the sins of his people, and rose from the dead to justify all who believe in his work, all for us. All he did including our faith is a gift from God.  But sometimes we don’t know if we have received this gift.  So,  how do we know that we received this gift?  If we love him and obey his word everyday!  We don’t love him perfectly or obey him completely but we want to most of the time. Lord come soon so when we see you face to face we will be like you and our sinning will be over.  Praise you Lord Jesus, Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
