Feeding in the word

 “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬


How do we know we are a child of God?  This verse says that the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit.  How does the Holy Spirit bear witness?  Most often through the Word of God.  When we read or hear the Bible the Holy Spirit works in your heart and you accept it as truth as spiritual food.  You say to yourself amen this is true.  Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit and his word to transform our lives to become like him.  And if we are children then we are heirs to God which gives us a great inheritance, eternal life! We are so blessed and we need to be affirmed daily that we are indeed a child of God by feeding in scripture.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
