Faith alone saves you

 “For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:10, 13, 17‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We are saved through “faith alone” is a theological statement of receiving eternal life. Therefore, if this is true then we should try to understand it.  Paul describes faith compared to obedience of the law.  When our heart believers in the gospel of Jesus we are made just with God. When we confess this truth we are saved. God gets the glory.  We demonstrate our hearts desire by calling on Jesus to save us from our sinfulness.  And Paul says that these actions are called faith.  This faith comes by hearing the word of God and it is planted in our heart.  Then it produces fruit of right thinking, feelings, and actions.   And we begin to fulfill the commandments of loving God and loving our neighbors.  May our faith increase everyday by reading the Word and believing it is true.  Thank you Jesus. Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
