Count it all joy

 “If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:14, 18-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬


We all love to be appreciated and praised for doing good things.  But the joy of being a Christian is that we can rejoice when we are insulted and suffer for doing good because we know that the Holy Spirit is living in us.  Knowing that we are a part of God’s eternal family is more precious than anything this world can offer us.  So let us rejoice in our trials and temptation for we know that God is working in us for his good pleasure and our amazing joy!  Thank you Jesus, Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
