Praise the Lord today

Isaiah 41:13-14 “13For I, the LORD your God,
hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not,I am the one who helps you.” 14Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel!
I am the one who helps you, declares the LORD; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.”

God is with us we shall not fear anyone but him. This is the theme of Isaiah and I believe of the Bible. Jesus came to show us what Isaiah was proclaiming that our God is a righteous, loving God. He created all things and controls all things. The good news is that his love is so great that he came to save us from our sins that kill us. His wonderful plan for us to praise him by trusting and obeying him everyday. When we realize how wonderful he is we like all creation praise him and magnify his holy name. Lord help us to see who you are more clearly today so we may praise and glorify you for you are worthy of all our praise. Thank you Jesus. Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
