Listen in a wise way

Isaiah 36:18-20 “Beware lest Hezekiah mislead you by saying, “The LORD will deliver us.” Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria? 19Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand? 20Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their lands out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’”

This part of Isaiah sets a scene of a messenger from the king in Assyria to the men of Jerusalem.  The messenger is threatening the city for destruction and they should give up before they are defeated.  He attacked their trust in the Lord saying that other nation’s god did not save them.  A real problem that occurs often throughout history.  People of God doubting the Lords faithfulness to them. We often listen to others who make us question Jesus, who he is and what he has done and is doing for us.  Who we listen to can either strength our faith or question it.  Stay in the word daily, pray without ceasing and be wise who you listen to.  May the Lord Jesus strength us and increase our faith in him.  For your glory and our joy.  Amen
