God of order

Isaiah 28: 29 “This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.”

Isaiah in this chapter prophecies about mankind living and making merry with celebrations of wine drinking and being proud of their success. But often unrighteousness is used for obtaining their goals. God is a righteous Lord who punishes evil actions and self pride. He explains how his world works with planting and harvesting at appropriate time. God loves order and his commandments are true and worthy of obeying.  Therefore Isaiah ends the chapter in amazement of how wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom the Lord God is!  We should take note and agree that Jesus is amazing and desires our praise and honor. Yes God is the Lord of host because he is with us and in us working out his plans.  Thank you Jesus for loving us so much that you are intimately involved with us everyday.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
