Put Jesus first

Colossians 2:16-19 “16Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. 18Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions,d puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind, 19and not holding fast to the Head, from whom the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God.”
Peter now understands what is important and how so often rituals and traditions and special events can hinder our growing in the Lord Jesus and his body the church.  When we perform acts of any kind we need to determine if this is glorifying Jesus or ourself or someone or something else.  It is so important to put Jesus first in all our hearts, thoughts and actions.  Praying to the Lord for guidance and direction so we don’t waste our time. Everything is by him, for him and to him for his glory and our joy.  Jesus help us to believe this truth about you and help us to experience your joy in living in, for and by you.  Amen
