Fear the Lord
Luke 12:4-5, 32, I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him! 32 “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Fear is a powerful emotion that God has given us for our protection. Fear helps us what to be cautious of and what to flee. Fear is good but it needs to be understood and used for our good and for God’s glory. When we fear the one who is most powerful we give God glory. If we fear someone or something that shows our lack of trust in God then we dishonor him. If we know Jesus is for us then our fear is to not love him and give him glory. Disappointing an almighty God is a scary place to be even though we know that he loves us. Let us use the gift of fear to bring Jesus glory by fearing when we do not obey him and not fear what he controls. Thank you Jesus. Amen
