Ask if you don’t understand
Luke 9: 44-45 “Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.” 45 But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they might not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying. “
Have you ever read something in the Bible that you didn’t understand? Of course you have, so what do you do? Do you ignore it and move on, look up commentaries on what they think it means, or pray about it to Jesus? In verse 45 it said that the apostles didn’t understand Jesus because it was concealed from them. Knowledge without understanding is often meaningless. The truths of the Bible are the path of life. They are always true even if we don’t understand them. We need to ask the Lord what his word means to us today. They may not be useful now but will be needed and understood later. Jesus knows our needs and knows the future so we must trust him and his word to meet all our needs by his riches in glory. Jesus help us to ask you for help in understanding your word, your way of life, and our future with you. For your glory and our joy. Amen
