Does Jesus know you?

Matt 25:12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’  Do we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?  How do we know, since without one we are doomed until eternal punishment. Do I have to ask Jesus into my heart to save me from my sinful nature? Yes, and do I have to take communion to receive his new covenant of his body and blood? Yes, and do we have to share the good news of the gospel to other people in our life ? Yes, but all that along is not enough because we can do all of that on our own power.  The way we know if we truly love Jesus is to love people in need.  Do we desire to help others?  Do we care for others more than we care for ourselves?  Do we love the people who are unloveable?  Do we know that the Holy Spirit is causing us to think of others and act on those thoughts?  Do we trust God and do what we know is right even when he is saying wait for awhile?  There is more but we must look at our heart and ask, are you Jesus with me?  May we grow in our love and knowledge of Jesus and know that he is causing us to love him and others more each day.  In Jesus name Amen.

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
