Saul king of Israel?

God commands what he doesn’t want to happen? Yes and no.  God interacts with his people in ways where we can understand his likes and dislikes.  It allows us to have a relationship with him.  But there is more to God than our understanding.  When he shows disappointment it doesn’t mean he is not in control.  His will always occurs but sometimes we can’t see it or understand it.  The great news is that Jesus came and revealed more of who God is and calls us friends who believe that he is the messiah. Can we disappoint God? Yes and yet his plan is for us to repent and move forward knowing that all things work together for good to those who love God.  Pray our love, knowledge and obedience grow more each day.  For Jesus glory and our joy.  Amen

Jesus is God

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
