God’s is merciful in who he chooses

God shows mercy on who he chooses and righteousness to everyone else!  Saul acted like a normal man and that was not high enough or good enough for God.  When we think we are good enough or kind enough and not humble before God we are fools!  Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall see God.  Without humbleness no one can please God. Saul was action with human sense and the Lord God says not good enough.  Only those who trust me with all there heart will please me.  David was better but not good enough! Jesus was and it the perfect man and God because he perfectly trusted the father.  When we receive the Holy Spirit we can trust him with pure hearts.  Without him it is impossible.  Thank you Jesus for sending us the Holy Spirit.  All praise to you Jesus!  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
