Peace of Christ


“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What is the peace of Christ and how can we let it rule in our hearts?   Our hearts are the decision maker in our lives and it controls our thoughts and actions.  If we allow the peace of Jesus to be the ruler of our decisions than he must be Lord over us.  What he says about us, what he commands of us, and what he promises for us, will control our thoughts and decisions. When we allow these truths to deeply penetrate our minds and souls we will follow and obey Christ.  The process is an amazing peace and joy called sanctification that we experience and nothing can hinder it. I pray that we grow deeper into Jesus each day.  Amen

A chosen privilege

 “And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13‬:‭27‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have not chosen God's love first, it is God who has chosen us.  What a glorious and tremendous responsibility.  The God of the universe has chosen us to represent him in his world.  With this truth placed deep in our heart we must love Jesus and others more than ourselves because that is the character of God.  Our privilege and responsibility is huge.  We must submit to the Holy Spirit to live righteously for we are witnesses to king Jesus.  Amen

Be sober for the day

 “But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus is called the morning star, bringing light into this evil dark world.  When we taste and see that the Lord is good we live in his light which is called day.  Paul encouraged us to be sober in preparing for Jesus' return.  He means to mentally and spiritually be clear in our thinking about our faith. To be self disciplined, and vigilant concerning our hope and belief in Jesus' love and presence.  When doubt and danger tempt us we need to stay sober and put on the armor of God and trust in the Lord.   Lord help us to be ready to serve you by loving you and others until you come.  Come soon Lord Jesus come soon.  Amen
