Run to Jesus

Jan 31, 2022 “For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Faith that saves you obeys the Lord.  If you don’t desire to love and serve the Lord your faith is dead.  Therefore pray that the Lord Jesus give you a sensitivity to know your heart and when it lacks faith that obeys Jesus repent and run to the only one who can save your soul.  Help us Jesus to truly love you.  Amen

The Lord loves the righteous

“the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭146:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ The Lord loves the righteous and the righteous are those who trust in the Lord.  Only those who have faith in Jesus, life, death and resurrection are truly righteous.  Therefore we love Jesus because God first loved us.  Thank you Jesus.  Amen

God is just and more

Jan 29, 2022 “Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’ So the last will be first, and the first last.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭20:15-16‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We have the tendency to want justice and to be treated fairly. God gives us this feelings but that is only the beginning of knowing God.  Not only is he just always he is merciful and gracious meaning he forgives and gives what is not deserved.  And he does this without being unjust.  We serve an awesome God that knows how to love those he chooses to love.  Jesus thank you for loving me and being just, merciful and gracious to a sinner such as me.  Amen

Live for Jesus

Jan 28, 2022 “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ We spend so much of our life striving to eat and drink.  We need to strive for doing what is right and finding peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  When our goal is pleasing Jesus then we desire to be righteous, this causes us to obtain the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus help us to live pleasing you and not our stomachs!   Amen

Test in Jesus

Jan 27, 2022 Matt 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Trying to rest in Jesus is like learning how to float. The more you trust you won’t sink by relaxing your arms and legs the easier it gets. Ask Jesus to help you live each day  by jumping into his arms and be at peace. Lord teach me to be at peace in your love for me today. Amen

Put on Jesus

Jan 26, 2022 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Put on Jesus because he is full of love.  Love in action is Jesus, how he talked, acted, and cared for his people.  When making decisions we must think of others more than ourselves.  This doesn’t come naturally but only when we put on the qualities of Jesus.  Lord please help me to be like you.  Amen

Faith comes from God

Jan 25, 2022 “Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God then be like Peter are blessed.  We only believe in Jesus because God has given us knowledge and faith to believe.  This truth is so humbling and wonderful and something we need everyday from God.  Faith is the connection between Jesus and us and without it flowing from God we can’t believe.  Jesus help us to ask and receive faith in you so we may live and glorify your name.  Amen

Check your heart

Jan 23, 2022 “He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ It is very important to know what is in your heart.  What you desire, crave, hope for, because an unrighteous heart will not be allowed in the kingdom of God.  As believers in Jesus work on the cross we much have our hearts renewed everyday.  We can’t coast of previous repentance for our hearts tendencies is selfishness which is sin.  We need to depend on the saving grace of Jesus love and forgiveness everyday.  He deserves all the glory all the time.  Praise you Lord Jesus.  Amen

God’s choice

Jan 21, 2022 “But what is God’s reply to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭ESV‬‬ God chooses who he wants to choose and we respond as our hearts desire.  God never forces anyone to do what they don’t want to do.  He gives the desire or not.  Jesus please make me a vessel of your mercy.  Amen

Keep the heart from folly

Jan 20, 2022 “When a man’s folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Lord keep my heart from sinfulness so that I might give you honor and glory.  Apart from you my heart is full of folly and anger.  Amen

A brother of Jesus

Jan 18, 2022 “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:50‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Jesus I pray that I may do your Father’s will today so you will call me your brother.  Being a part of the family of God is so wonderful.  Lord help me to share your love to others today so I may glorify your name.  Thank you for making me a brother to you.  Amen

Live righteously

Jan 17, 2022 “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Live a righteous life and trust the Lord with the results.  There is great joy having faith in Jesus. He really does love us. Amen

God shine through us

Jan 16, 2022 “Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved!” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭80:19‬ ‭ESV‬‬ When we let God shine through us then we will experience his saving grace. Oh Lord let it be so.  Amen

Lose your life for Jesus

Jan 15, 2022 “Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:39‬ ‭ESV‬‬ If our goal in life is to make much of ourselves then our end will be empty for we were made to make much of God.  If we lose our identity in Jesus then we will live forever glorifying his name. Jesus help us to die to self today and forevermore.  Amen

Pray with thanksgiving

Jan 14, 2022 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. What a gift from God to be able to pray. Oh how we should receive this gift with joy and use it often. Jesus thank you for allowing us to talk to you any and all times. Thank you for loving us so much.  Amen

Love discipline

Jan 14, 2022 “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Our sinful nature hates to be told we are wrong.  That is stupid!  But a person who loves knowledge loves discipline for it is the only way to grow.  Lord help us to trust your discipline in our lives so we can love and know you more.  Amen

Humble is wise

Jan 12, 2022 “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Why is it wise to be humble?  Humble means you need help and without help we are dead in our sins.  Oh Lord let us always know how much we need you.  More and more everyday.  Amen

Faith for living for Jesus

Jan 11, 2022 “And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Faith in Jesus makes all the difference in life.  He gives us breath to live, he holds us together by his word, he died for all our sins, he rose from the dead for our justification, and lives at the right hand of the Father for our glorification.  All these truths are made known to us by faith.  Jesus give us faith to trust in all your truths so we can live a life that glorifies you.  Amen

We need a savior

Jan 10, 2022 “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Those who know they are forgiven much love Jesus more than those who think they need him little or not at all.  Why do you need a savior when you have no need!

Treat others like you want to be treated

Jan 9, 2022 ““So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬ What a wonderful generalization Jesus gives us here. Treating others the way you want to be treated.  We want to be loved, trusted, forgiven, respected, admired, cherish, understood and supported.  If we want to please God and keep all his righteousness then we would be treating others that way.  Lord fill us with your Spirit so we can treat others the way we want to be treated.  Amen

Jesus is the light of the world

Jan 8, 2022 ““The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:22-23‬ ‭ESV‬‬ I was reading Genesis chapter one and God said to let there be light in the world.  Darkness was already there but light was new.  Jesus is the light of the world back at the beginning and he is now the light.  When our eyes are open by grace we see Jesus and his righteousness.  We desire to love, obey and be with him.  He is the light and those who are called will come to the light. Lord Jesus help me to see you more clearly and love you more dearly.  Amen

Yes be Yes

Jan 6, 2022 “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:37‬ ‭ESV‬‬ How simple but how difficult to do what you say.  We often want to do what is right but don’t because it is so difficult. At that moment when we decide to change our yes to no we must ask Jesus for help.  It all comes down to that decision to obey.  Lord help us to turn to you and ask for your strength to say yes to what we know is right.  Amen
